I could be wrong here. He isn't leaving until October, and the referendum is non-binding. Parliament needs to tell the EU they are withdrawing, and Cameron's not going to make official notification before he leaves. A lot can happen before then. I smell a rat. Some kind of renegotiation of terms perhaps.

English will not be an official EU language after Brexit

Danuta Hübner, the head of the European Parliament’s Constitutional Affairs Committee (AFCO), warned Monday that English will not be one of the European Union’s official languages after Britain leaves the EU.

English is one of the EU’s 24 official languages because the U.K. identified it as its own official language, Hübner said. But as soon as Britain completes the process to leave the EU, English could lose its status.

“We have a regulation … where every EU country has the right to notify one official language,” Hübner said. “The Irish have notified Gaelic, and the Maltese have notified Maltese, so you have only the U.K. notifying English.”

“If we don’t have the U.K., we don’t have English,” Hübner said.

Britian has over 60 million people in it. Even if the petition was legit and all actual british citizens (its not) 3 million people is 5% of the population. I can get 5% of the population to sign off on any ridiculous petition... to tar and feather Obama, to legalize heroin, to declare war on mexico... you will find extremists in every situation in those numbers... nearly 50% voted stay, of course they want a second chance to vote... they lost a close vote...

The integrity of the vote is that it should matter... making results optional minimizes the impact of the vote... the loser always can beg for a retry and frankly they only really get that chance when the loser is the side that controls the election process

Just like the voters in the United Kingdom, Americans are fed up with a status quo that ignores their problems and constantly leaves them falling farther behind. A staggering two out of every three Americans believe America is on the wrong track. Now they’re making their voices heard.

Our recent polling in two battleground states shows independents flocking to Trump over Hillary Clinton. In Ohio, independents go for Trump by 19 percentage points. In North Carolina, they prefer him over Clinton by 24 points.

These numbers show just how upset the American people are with the status quo. They don’t want a third term of President Obama’s abysmal economic growth and feckless foreign policy. They want someone who will upend the status quo rather than worsen America’s decline.
