Claypool to Chicago for 2nd Rounder

I think Moore would be a fine guard … he isn’t bad in all aspects.. mostly he struggles with edge speed… and he could improve there… …I’ve always felt that Tomlin’s lines have miscast guys… not all of them, but enough… since Cowher left it always seems a guy who looks like a guard candidate is playing tackle and a guy who seems to be more of a tackle is at guard…
Moore at LG next to franchise LT could fix the whole line. Draft a C in 3rd round to compete with Cole and the OL is set as the latter can play G too and we would have 6 players for 5 spots all starter capable. Ideally the C is a road grader to improve the run

Its typical character assassination to make the trade more palatable… the Pittsburgh media loves doing this…
They cut bait because he wasn’t improving on his own and the staff is not built to develop guys…
I wouldn't just put it on the media. Someone on the team leaked the information to them.

I think Claypool is better than he's showing here, but satisfied getting a second rounder (would've preferred to wait until the offseason, but whatever). I also believe he probably is happy to have a change of scenery. This is an awful offense to play in for skill position players, which is ironic given the Steelers investment in this area while ignoring the offensive line.

Still trying to wrap my head around Claypools performance after his fantastic rookie season...The kid had 10 touchdowns as a rookie!! This team will be lucky to get 10 touchdowns all season!
This guy looked like a future possible Pro-Bowler and 2nd contract type of guy, after his first year as a pro..

WTF Happened?

Ben Roethlisberger, made average look good.

Peeps want to forget the DL but they could still be more run D stingy. Cut off the run, get a good pass rush going, you have a half a chance to be competitive. The other part would be shipping some coaches off to parts unknown. But offseason we are probably just minus Canada.

I'm hoping the DC as well, then Flores takes over the Defense with a strong showing and Coach Tomlin whispers into his ear to stay one more year because he's retiring.

We just drafted a 3rd round center and he hasn'r worn a hat yet this season. (I just had to vent)

Problem is he wasn't a center haha

Are you venting now ?
Can we trust the brain child who drafted a non-center in the third only to make him the starting center ?

I would use every draft pick on the OL

Great lines make everything and everyone that much better. Open big holes for running backs, give the qb&wr extra time to throw and get open.

On defense you crush the pocket, stuff the run and make the qb run for his life. The secondary cleans up and isn't stuck on an island. They're more free to make plays and get turnovers from the work up front.

Any chance you could send this MEMO to Coach Tomlin,..................... 12 years ago ?

I honestly think there is something else with Vaughn because he is still a UFA after that really great preseason… not even a practice squad offer from anyone

Yeah
How strange is that?
Dude looked like he had potential and was “preseason clutch”, would’ve been nice to see it translate to something meaningful

The Packers made aggressive attempts to acquire Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Chase Claypool as well as Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller, league sources told ESPN. Green Bay offered two draft picks -- its second-round pick and another late-round pick -- to Pittsburgh for Claypool, according to sources.

They just didn't have the draft stock potential as Chicago. I think they would have had to throw that first rounder out. As a high second for a team with the potential to be even higher is almost like a first rounder anyways. I think the thinking is Green Bay will start stacking some wins. And their 2nd might have more like a third round feel to it. Go large or stay home the Steelers made the right choice.

And he’s Our highest drafted OL in the last decade drafted at 87…yup

Geez I wonder why our OL sucks

100% this. The decision-makers have ignored OL for 10 years and result is a terrible offensive line. Shocking.

Up next: driver fails to put gas in tank, shocked he runs out of gas.

I am hoping that assistant GM pushes for Oline upgrades. And Dline...

And they've been wallowing in mediocrity.

Let me clarify my Steeler Football definition of mediocrity.

Kinda good but never great. Never moving past middle of the pack with unresolved weaknesses that get severely exposed as the season goes on. Much below The Established Standard started in the 1970's".

Stop trying to be cute and get back to the brand that sets you apart from others. You'll probably have to let go of all of the soft ones.

It'll be interesting to see how things play out. I think the front office is banking on Aaron Rodgers carrying the Packers to some wins. The Packers also already have a head-to-head win over Chicago. It could be close, though. Fields is beginning to play a little better and Green Bay has lost four in a row compared to four of five for the Bears. If nothing else, it gives us a couple of other teams to keep an eye on.

Remaining schedule (bold is over .500)

Bears: Dolphins, Lions, Falcons, Jets, Packers, Eagles, Bills, Lions, Vikings
Packers: Lions, Cowboys, Titans, Eagles, Bears, Rams, Dolphins, Vikings, Lions
