College Football Playoff Thread

Carson Beck declared for draft. Changed his mind, went into portal and Miami gave him 4 million to throw TDs and bad INTs.
I thought once you declared for the draft your college career was over.

I’m not sure there’s a less likable person in college football than Will Howard. As much as I like the way Ohio State is playing, there’s just something disingenuous about the guy. He comes off as kind of a choad. The whole “I wasn’t good enough” crap. Ohio State didn’t want you either. That’s how you ended up at Kansas State. But sure, you’re awesome because you joined an absolutely loaded team.

I really like Jack Sawyer. Guy is a gamer. Maybe not the most gifted player, but he is all effort and motor. No quit in that guy.
Howard's done a lot better than Kyle McCord. He was on a loaded team too, and he still sucked.

Sawyer and Tuiomoloau have been overall great bookends for the Buckeyes. Sawyer tends to disappear for a game or two, then busts out for a big game. He's had a great CFP so far. I'm not sure he'll be a great pro, but he might.

Kyle McCord looks pretty good up in Syracuse.

My problem with Howard is his whole “nobody wanted me” attitude, especially toward Penn State. Like they overlooked this great talent. Ohio State overlooked you too my guy. That’s why you were at Kansas State for three years. Seems he tends to forget that part.

Seriously though, much respect to the Longhorns, they made Ohio State earn it, they adjusted after those first 10 minutes and had Buckeye nation sweating bullets until the end. Cant wait until this coming August in Austin for part 2

Bring on those domers!!!

Texas’ game plan to take away Jeremiah Smith was brilliant. Problem is, OSU has several excellent receivers and Tate stepped up. No the offense wasn’t nearly as explosive, but they got the job done.

Will be curious to see how Notre Dame defends Ohio State. I’d start by copy-catting whatever Texas did in regards to Smith and go from there. I don’t think ND has the athletes that Texas has in the secondary, but they have an excellent coaching staff and I don’t think you can say enough about that. This is probably going to be a better title game than many, including myself, initially thought.

Yep brilliant gameplan by Texas. I never thought in a million years Smith would end up with just 1 reception for 3 yards.

Kinda like Allar has stated he felt overlooked and unwanted by Ohio State? These guys use whatever motivation they can.

I’m ok with whoever wins this year. So as long as it wasn’t Texas. After the whole water bottle fiasco, I don’t care if they’re SEC.

I never root for ravens, browns and bengals. Hold similar thoughts towards the conference in college

Did someone mention the possibility of a giant meteor yet?

Possible impact Jan 20th around the Atlanta area?

I don’t see how ND scores on Ohio State unless they plan on 2 DBs falling down allowing a slow WR to score a long TD about 4 times

I'll be surprised if Notre Dame doesn't get killed, but OSU is beatable. Texas had their chances. Last night's game could have been an instant classic.

So you’re saying that’s not a fluke play and that WR will just snap ankles of Ohio State DBs because he’s so damn fast?
The receiver made the moves and dropped the Penn State's DBs pants. Ohio State is a DB factory to the NFL so they probably won't drop so easily. But that was absolutely not a fluke against Penn State, it was two good moves.

448...I learned a long time ago....that it’s difficult for some folks to admit that Notre Dame players can make great plays and win big games..

Some actually dont realize that hundreds of Fightin Irish players have played and some exceled in the NFL over the years...
Their called ND Deniers...and some even have the dreaded NDDS (NotreDame Derangement Syndrome)

Some big Penn State news

DC Tom Allen is leaving for Clemson. I'm thinking he was told he wouldn't be back. he was fine but may not have been a fit. He's old school and could not figure out the radio to send in plays. Assistant Dan Connor had to signal in the plays for him.

Leaving
Abdul carter - draft, no brainer
Tyler Warren - draft
Cam Sutton - Portal. The DB who fell down.

Staying
Drew Allar
Dani Dennis-Sutton - the DE who made that great INT that should have won the game. Former 5 star starting to play like it.
Both RBs Singleton and Allen
DT Zane Durant

New Arrivals
S King Mack - started at Penn State, went to Bama last year, now back to Penn State
DT Owen Wafle from Michigan
WR Kyron Hudson USC
WR Devonte Ross - Troy

It appears Penn State is getting their NIL game in order and spent a bunch to retain players. Now if they could just get a WR to run a good route.

I can’t believe any running backs stay if they’d be drafted anywhere in the first three rounds.
