ok...I have seen enough...the guy gets burned and flagged all the time. I think we made a huge mistake with this guy. He gives us nothing, except for like one or two games a year. Not a fan....hes slow, not athletic, and has no ball skills. Why the steelers decided this guy was the guy over guys like Keenan Lewis, I'll never know. He's slow and lead footed.

Wait,....I thought is was Ike that sucked???

You can tell that Ike at least belongs...getting worse, but he does, Cortez brings nothing. Passive on coverage, not a factor on the run game, and from time to time (every 2 or 3 games) makes a play. The guy isnt worth the money. We reached on him. Bottom line.

But he was a starter, so we HAD to bring him back. At full market value. Before he was even an RFA. Without drafting any competition.

He was the only one willing to entertain an offer to stay.

Ike does suck gives us this folded arm crap when your getting your *** kicked. Cortez Allen and Taylor should watch the tape and see how to intercept a ball by a 400lb lineman.

I thought Allen got ripped on that PI call, he was looking back at the ball and his feet got tangled up, but Richard Sherman and Petersen would look horrible here when the QB gas 25 seconds to throw

He also threw an arm around Smith's waist

They never offered Lewis a contract. I saw an interview with him after he signed with NO. He would have stayed in Pittsburgh but they never even contacted him. He was very open to staying.

They then handed slightly more money to Cortez a year later.

He didnt look back at the ball until he was burned.....and he was grabbing the whole time.

Not making excuses for the guy cause he sucked, but I think that was a **** call, IMO, they were handfighting and then tripped over each other, that's what made smith fall. Doesn't matter he and ike suck, but what CB's can stay with their WR when the QB has all day.

Perhaps the most depressing thing from last nights game is that the two recent contract signing (Allen and Gilbert) didn't play like they deserved it.That doesn't bode well for the future.

For what it's worth, PFF credited Allen with four missed tackles last night, three in run support.

That plus the awful PI and dropped INT made it a pretty solid performance.

Besides the passes Ben and WRs didnt connect on, the Brown and Heath fumbles, Allen's drop was another missed play that could of changed the game.

Then it makes it even worse.

Shaquille Richardson. Terry Hawthorne. Crezdon Butler.

Since 2010, each was taken in the 4th round or later. Curtis Brown was taken in the 3rd in 2011, the same year we took Allen in the 4th round. It's apparent the organization doesn't put much stock into the CB position , so should we really be surprised with what we see on the field?

Got me thinking (waxing nostalgic?) over the Chad Scott/Dwayne Washington days... we've been mediocre (or worse) with our CB tandems as far as I can remember.

The almost immeasurably small air movement generated by electrons as they race through the atmosphere to deliver your message just knocked Gilbert flat on his back.

and then Cam Thomas waddles up and says to him,,Hey man, you gonna finish that bird **** on your neck?

What's more shocking is that they have 3 1st round LBs, 1 1st round DL, a 2nd round LB, 2 1st round OL, 1 2nd OL and they all suck balls. They think they can get by with ****** CBs if they can get quick pressure. The problem is that they have changed their philosophy on the 3-4 to use the NG to penetrate and have smaller ILBs to help against the pass. Which would make sense except that Timmons can't play the mack position and struggles against TEs in pass coverage, Shazier is a rookie, Worilds is worthless against the pass and run, and Jones can't handle ROLB yet. Put that together with an aged Keisel and an up and down Heyward and you've got trouble.

We have drafted stupidly for Tomlin's entire tenure and now that both Worild's and Jarvis sucj=k we will be forced to draft a LB #1 for the 3rd straight year, talking about the wrong way to build a roster. Most knew the Jarvis pick was a horrible pick but that didn't stop the fat *** Tomlin from getting a chubby for him and loving that his workout numbers were so bad that they would scare other teams away from the stiff. I would love to play high stakes poker with the moron.

Like many other recent draft picks, Allen's growth stagnated and even regressed after a good start to his career. He had the look of a future starter, but has not played well at all in that role. His missed tackles are one of the things killing this defense.
