Covid Vaccine

I want to start seeing some data on the infected in three categories: Those who have been infected and got reinfected, those who have had the vaccine then got infected, and those who have had the vaccine and have been infected and then got reinfected.

The following is observation based on zero science...but what I am seeing/reading - it seems like we are hearing a lot about people who have had the vaccine getting COVID - Texas Democrats, athletes, etc. A LOT of stories.

I am hearing little to nothing about people who have had COVID getting reinfected.

Know of a couple locally who got the vaccines...then a month later and got COVID and have it really bad. Know of two others who had the vaccine and contracted it. I am hearing far more about people catching COVID after vaccines than those getting reinfected.

If anyone has studies/data on this, would love to read.

Anecdotally, it seems like having had COVID seems a better level of protection. Again, this is based on my limited observation.

I don't know anyone whos been sick with covid after vaccine or previous infection. I know one person who claims they were reinfected after having it before but didn't get sick. A big problem with any data is that most people who get asymptomatic infections aren't getting tested now. So infections are showing up in people who get tested as a matter of course, i.e. athletes or DJ's workplace. Among the general population who knows? I wonder if they're still following the placebo group from the clinical trials or if they all eventually got vaccinated.

I am just talking about what I am seeing on the news. Countless athletes who got vaccinated got COVID. Everyone heard about the Texas Democrats, all vaccinated, getting Covid.

The Texas Democrats is an unusual story. Studies show about 1% of people are getting COVID after being infected. Yet 10% of them did.

I wonder what the real numbers will pan out to be. No huge deal, people get the flu after getting the flu shot. Just seems of late there is a lot on the news, and I know 4 people this has happened to.

Good article explaining this phenomenon, even if it is from WAPO. Basically, you can think of the vaccines not as necessarily stopping the virus from ever getting into your body, but stopping it from replicating and spreading through your body.

A misconception exists that vaccines transform us into totally immune beings, able to instantaneously smite any virus we encounter. Sten H. Vermund, an infectious-disease epidemiologist and dean of the Yale School of Public Health, likened this false idea to a bug zapper: “As soon as it touches my mucosa or skin or genital tract — boom, zap, it’s gone!” Not quite. Instead, Vermund said, vaccines are more similar to poisoned traps, into which a pest might fall, wriggle a bit, then perish from insecticide.
When immunized people are not tested frequently, it is possible many breakthrough infections are dismissed as mild colds or simply go unnoticed. If vaccinated people are tested repeatedly regardless of symptoms, as is the case for Olympians and baseball players, those tests can detect infections before they are defeated by immune systems. Such test results may show snapshots of weakly wriggling virus, to borrow from Vermund’s bug-trap analogy. The coronavirus vaccines almost always stop you from getting very sick, but they cannot always stop infection.

Not every infection progresses to covid-19. It is possible for the virus to exist in someone’s nose or mouth without causing the fatigue, aches, loss of smell or other ailments that characterize covid-19. This is what is known as an asymptomatic infection.

Breakthrough infections can be asymptomatic. They may also involve smaller amounts of virus, emerging data suggest. These infections are likely to be contained in the nose and upper respiratory tract, without harming lungs or other vital organs deeper within the body, according to Tulane University School of Medicine professor and physician Jay K. Kolls. This, he said, may have to do with how vaccines are delivered.

The coronavirus vaccines provoke the body into making several types of immune fighters, including antibodies that stop the virus from invading healthy cells and T cells that hunt and kill infected cells. Coronavirus shots are frequently given in arm muscles, and as a result these defenders are generated in nodes and organs nearby in the chest. A few days after a virus invades, those disease fighters can be summoned to the infection site to thwart the virus.

buddy of mine's wife is an anesthesiologist, she's vaccinated. felt tired and a bit bad yesterday. tested positive for KungFlu.

OK?? LOL

I was/am aware of this...I admitted knowledge of this above...and before.

I am curious to see a comparison of the three groups I mentioned. And I find it odd that we "hear" about so many reinfections...and 10% of one vaccinated group.

This is my point. It just "seems" reinfections - despite being so very unbelievably incredibly rare - are happening more than they say they should.

SEEMS.

Not saying they are.

I know four people, you know one (maybe more), 10% of an illegal Democratic flight got da Rona, and many athletes - all previously vaccinated.

It SEEMS higher than 1%.

You should talk to jizzer. He had the Chinese flu, was re-infected, got the vaccine, was re-infected, got another vaccine, 20 of his co-workers were infected, got a fourth dose of the vaccine, the 20 co-workers got the vaccine, ALL were re-infected, everybody at the clinic was triple-vaccinated, all were infected, all recovered from the Chinese flu, got another shot just cuz, and still everybody - every single person - was re-infected.

That, and he owes me $50.

the only being I wish would get reinfected is the Ogre.

BUT, I do not wish the Rona to mutate after infecting it. Can you imagine the Ogre strain?!?!

Jizzers facility, with 120 staff and patents, has had 4,973 cases of the Rona. It's crazy ****.

A. You also should want data on which strain they had
B. If you want this kind of data, look outside the us… Europe and asia and some of Africa all seem have more scientific data available than we do …. Or better yet peruse the over 15,000 medical journals in the world… there are oodles of peer reviewed papers on treatment and case studies out there… many contradict or at least question the media narratives on both sides of the debate rather thoroughly…

in almost every country cases are between 50/50 to 60/40 between vaccinated and unvaccinated…once you factor in natural immunity theories from the nordic studies last year, pfizer and JJ may have no real immunity against delta… the last hasn’t had any real data published as far as i can tell…
I am working on a smokestack right now so im not hunting stuff down… plus so much of it is still low data numbers so nothing is definite yet… a lot of this stuff takes years to compile effectively

So i have a weird situation that I can’t figure out my 78 year old father was immunize a month ago… i took him for one shot and a neighbor took him for his second. He had the normal three day illness after his second shot…
He had to be hospitalized recently over a totally non covid related thing… he was moved to a rehab clinic last week…

the weird thing is the hospital keeps insisting he isn’t vaccinated… even his doctor says he is but they keep denying it… I don’t know if it is a paperwork issue or just incompetent people looking at his charts….

it strike me as weird that they are isolating him like they are…

It wasn't heart rate related, was it?

I think the point is s "positive test" and "reinfection" are really not exactly the same thing.. You can have some small amount of virus in your nose and test positive and not really be "infected" if that makes sense, because your immune system immediately stamps it out. But if you're getting tested immediately after exposure you will test positive.

Sad thing is none of this will matter to the mask-loving crowd who will freak out over these positive tests anyway.

I suspect, but have nothing to back it up, that if we tested every year for those that received a flu shot, we would see similar positive results.

Yes because the flu shot doesn't just prevent infections, it also lessens severity if you do get infected. Same with this shot, although according to the data this shot is more effective at preventing illness than the flu shot is.

Yep, the White House is preparing to advise masking, again.

That's why the hyperventilating about getting everyone vaccinated is overblown. If you look for something (testing everyone), your going to find something, and I think the vaccine is a good idea for those that are vulnerable to this virus.

No it was stupidity related… you probably shouldn’t quit taking all your meds and switch to vitamins and expect great results 🤨
ah, it happens with the older generation. my uncle was exposed to Agent Orange in Vietnam, smoked since he was a kid and had lung cancer surgery 4+ years ago. Thought he could "teach" his lungs to work better by not using his oxygen machine. yeah, that doesn't work.

Well, hell may have just frozen over. Soros and the liberals & communists hiding under your beds have gotten to Ron DeSantis.

After a year and a half of non-stop lies & subterfuge, the right has officially painted itself in a corner. Congratulations, take a bow.

Makes sense why DeSantis is in panic mode. I'm just glad the right is finally coming around, could help save lives and that's all that matters.

we've been over this time and time again
