Dallas

The problem with that Spike is that it's essentially a "He said - Dead said" argument.

Unless the 2nd angle video can confirm that Sterling was attempting to reach for a weapon it would be very difficult to deter either side from their pre-determined opinion. The BLM side will undoubtedly cry "bullshit" and the ALM side is going to say "Completely Justified". With no definitive proof, you've got a pointless argument that does nothing but deepen the divide. In fact it merely comes off as the police attorney's attempt to get the police off. If I were their lawyer that's the case I'd make and they'll probably win it too. That will only cause MORE problems.

Sad, but true.

BTW...was there any dashcam video from the Minnesota shooting or only Diamond's cell phone video after the fact?

BLACK LIVES MATTER PROTESTERS BLOCK BRIDGE DURING CHILD’S MEDICAL EMERGENCY

Black Lives Matter protesters blocked off a bridge and prevented a suffering child from traveling to the hospital so they could hold up some protest signs while browsing the internet on their cell phones.

Alton Sterling Reached for a Gun, Baton Rouge Detective Says

Officers were justified in their shooting of Alton Sterling during a confrontation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, according to a police report on the incident. That shooting resulted in Sterling's death, which alongside the police-involved shooting of Philando Castile near St. Paul, Minnesota, triggered nationwide protests. From CNN:

In a search warrant affidavit seeking surveillance video from the store, [where police responded to a call about a man threatening another man with a gun,] Detective R. Cook wrote that the Baton Rouge officers deployed their Tasers after Sterling did not comply with their orders.

"While the officers were attempting to subdue the subject the officers observed the butt of a gun in the subject's front pants pocket," Cook wrote.

"When the subject attempted to reach for the gun from his pockets the officers fired their police issued duty weapon at the subject to stop the threat. The subject was shot multiple times and did not survive his injuries."

I believe both guys that got shot had guns on them, making the situations all the more precarious for the police officer. The dude in the car was reaching for something even though he was told not to as the cop knew he had a gun. The other guy wrestling on the ground with the officers had a gun in his pocket. Can't tell if he was reaching for it or not.

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The Memphis Black Lives Matter rally shut down the I-40 bridge Sunday night with hundreds of protesters refusing to leave. Traffic could not go across, but paramedic Bobby Harrell with Crittenden EMS was determined to get to a child who was stuck on the bridge with his family.

"We received a call there was a child needing medical attention stuck in traffic up on the bridge and due to the protest going on the bridge the family was not able to get through traffic to get him to Le Bonheur,” Harrell said.

"The sheriff's department had to escort us up the wrong way of the interstate to the child," he said.

Harrell said after he had the very sick child in the ambulance, the driver had to go 25 minutes out of the way.

"We had to turn around and come back to West Memphis and cross over at MLK to get over to 55."

Then from I-55, they headed to Le Bonheur Children's hospital. Harrell said he knew about the protest on the bridge, so he had a contingency plan to take patients to Arkansas hospitals and fly critical patients to Memphis. He didn't plan to end up on the bridge.

"It was kind of tense. I really didn't know what to expect going up there."

Harrell said he got the child to Le Bonheur just in time. The child’s father stayed with the family’s car and was eventually able to get there.

Bah, stop your complaining.....that kid is probably white. His life doesn't matter. Besides if he is White, his White Privilege should have enabled him to fly like Superman above the traffic jam and get to the hospital of his choice.

White privilege guilt trips kill me. I grew up dirt poor. No one gave me anything that I didn't work my *** off for. That opportunity exists for everyone in this country. The culture discourages traditional success though. That is a huge barrier that must be broken down to move forward positively in my opinion. I'm not sure how to convince people that the hard work is worth it.

My parents house that I grew up in, was torn down the second my Mom moved out of it after my Dad died, because it was in such terrible shape. For most of my childhood the ******* roof was on the verge of caving in and parts of it did from time to time. There were always holes in it with water coming down in the house and dripping on your head every time there was a hard rain. The basement was always full of water and you had to put on boots and wade to the washer if you didn't want to get your pants wet. In sections of the house you could look down through holes in the floor and see the basement. My parents worked hard but lived paycheck to paycheck my whole life.

The concept of White Privilege is a ******* joke to me. Nobody certainly ever swooped in and bailed us out of anything because we were White. I decided in HS that I was going to have to work hard if I wanted to get an education and make a better life for myself, so I did. As far as I'm concerned, they can take the White Privilege, bullshit, cop out excuse and shove it up their *****.

The difference is that I didn't have a community of people calling me an uppity sellout for trying to educate myself and do something with my life and trying their best to derail all my dreams. Therein lies the real problem.

I'm only 52. Up until I was 5 or so (late 60's), when many people had indoor running water, we lived in a tin roof house with a pump outside and took a bath in a galvanized tub. White privilege can kiss my hairy, white ***.

ironically, the Tampa and Memphis locations are just down the street from the jail. not sure about the others.

The Lansing jail is about 100 yards from the capitol.

I had to get a ******* paper route. Can you believe THAT bullshit! J/K, much respect to you guys who made better lives for yourselves.

Memphis Sheriff Deputy lost his job for Facebook posts.

“All Lives Matter” is racist and “Black Lives Matter” isn’t, write that down

University of Houston says student leader must go after ‘All Lives Matter’ post

It was bad enough when Purdue University recently called in student Joshua Nash for a “required Administrative Meeting” to discuss his “controversial” (and personal) Facebook posts.

It got even worse when they notified him that, due to his comment “Black Lives Matter is trash because they do not really care about black lives,” he could face disciplinary action — “up to and including expulsion.” (Purdue has since backed off.)

Nash has also gotten a lot of heat from fellow students, reportedly including death threats.

Now, the student body vice-president at the University of Houston is facing a similar situation.

Rohini Sethi put up a post on her Facebook account last Thursday which read “Forget #BlackLivesMatter; more like #AllLivesMatter”. As you might expect, this did not go over very well.

The hastag “#removerohini” took off as angry students took to social media to express their displeasure and to call for Sethi’s removal from student government.
