Dear Lord this offseason seems longer than others

underrated- Lima Sweed. the comic relief than man brought. Wide open watch me catch this TD pass. and no.
I remember when he missed a pass and just laid there on the turf. Tomlin had to go get him up to walk off.

If we are talking by the fans definitely not Heath Miller. But national recognition definitely underappreciated.

One of my top 5 favorites…..he was voted to 2 pro bowls and First team All Pro. Should have been more.
He was up against some pretty prolific TE’s during his playing time.

Another guy that flew under the radar and was under rated and maybe most don’t remember him, T Bell. A receiver back in the 70’s who caught lots of big catches. Always liked Theo Bell!
Y’all remember him?
Another guy was JT Thomas! Pretty solid CB back in the 70’s who I thought never got the credit he deserved.
Ray Penny and Gerry Moon Mullins. Very good OL who blocked for Bradshaw, Franco and Rocky.
Definitely underrated.

A steeler season ends... an offfseason begins
you get the loss bellyaching and bitching for a couple days.
If black monday hasnt happened yet, you get some coach discussions
Then a week of the exit meetings stuff to discuss and potential staff changes
If the playoffs are going on, you get to talk about that till a day or two past the super bowl... then you have the post season roster moves.. futures and early cuts... then a couple weeks of nothing

Late February through early march you get the combine. After that a week or two of pro woorkouts and by mid march, official visits

Tge second or third week of march Free agency also starts... which covers tge bases until the April draft coverage...
then you have rookie camps.. then a small dead zone until OTAs and minicamp...

But after that its like a black hole for like a month and a week or so until regular camp starts..

We are in the black hole of boredom right now

Theo Bell #83. yes very good.. great returner too. IDK where he went.

maybe it is just me but this offseason seems like it will never end

to kill time

who is a Steeler player you feel never got the respect or fanfare he deserved

no listing Aaron Smith - he should be at the top of most lists

on the other end of the spectrum

a player the Steelers drafted that you had high hopes for but they failed to fullfill the promise
Limas Sweed!!!

And did the dirty work for a team that didn't showcase the position. I always said if Heath or Hines drops a catchable pass or fumbles. This team is losing that game.

Time makes me forget how bitterly disappointing some of the Cowher years were. Yancey Thigpen had a couple 1300+ yards in those days with Neil and Kordel. And when he got injured in 1996 our already mediocre offense took a nosedive. He definitely was a bright light when he was with us. At the time I thought he was one of the best and vastly underrated WR’s in the league.
Randle El gets a honorable mention.

I was one of the few people that loved the Bud Dupree selection. i thought the guy was going to be a stud right out of the gate.
And sure got sick and tired of defending him on here for the first three years with his ****** play and all. The lightbulb seemed to finally go off……A- because TJWatt entered the equation……And B - because they finally put him on his natural side that he played his whole career. I thought he was going to be a HOF no problem. 😌

i remember the collective roar(including me) when Devin Bush was traded for. What a waste of space.

Love it! Lots of old school here. Takes me a few minutes to remember some of the names that have been said.

Jon Kolb. I think he got passed over for the HOF as well. One of the strongest men in the NFL in his time. Competed in worlds strongest man in 1978&79 and placed 4th both times.
Any of those Steeler lineman except for Webster from the '70s. I don't think any of them even made the Pro Bowl, again, except for Webster. Gerry Mullins. I think Sam Davis was mentioned.

A guy I liked a lot from the '90s Steelers was Justin Strzelczyk. Had a bit of a nasty streak.

Sorry Steelhurt, I cruised by your post.
