Deflate-gate......God I hate the Pats!!!!

This, to me, suggests something Goodell rues saying and something on which he has a team of highly paid attorney's (at Kraft's expense) currently working 'round the clock to parse into a completely different meaning.

Some sad ******* will be without a job soon. A new guy will get hired. Nothing more will come of this (The comissioner has had plenty of things to grab hold of, if he wanted to punish cheating).

Oh, and james Harrison will be fined 75 K, for conduct unbecoming.. Or something.

On another note. Why does it take forever to find out anything in NFL? It really lends credibility to the theory, that things must pass through a filter, before being released for public consumption.
One would think, that they would speed up the process, so we'd have the feeling, that 'Hey, these guys are on the case, they're doing something'... But no, tardiness seems to be the watchword.
Almost like things have to pass through 3 or 4 instances, for rubberstamping, before release.... And a couple of those instances, are not to be disturbed outside normal business hours.

Or what?

I expect something like:

"We are aware of the public's opinion of some indiscretion, and have conducted a thorough investigation - to include reaching out to scientists, mathematicians and investigating our own role in the misperception of the alleged incident. After conducting interviews with each and every player and/or individual who may have had a role in this incident, we are confidently moving forward."

So Tomlin will be the spokesperson?

no needles or pedigrees, so, no

I would love to be that sad ******* who can write a book about his side of the story and then retire.

I guess I am still at a loss as to how they can really get off this time(although I think goodall will try his best) if I read everything correctly it boils down to this, the league heard complaints from other teams about deflated balls, instead of warning the Pats, they show up in the afc chasmpionship game and find 11-12 deflated balls. since we found out from bountygate that ignorance doesn't get coaches of the hook, then Billicheat should be gone for a year. correct?

at bare minimum... He should get the Rose ban. It's been proven he's cheated and his team has benefitted to the tune of 3 questionable Superbowl victories because of it and a handful of AFC East championships and playoff appearances.

He should be given the Pete Rose. No question about it.

It really should be that simple, especially considering their egregious past. Any other team, I'd agree with you.

But not with this team and the incest that goes on between the NFL and the *Patriots.

Perhaps the NFL investigation is not so much focused on finding evidence of guilt, but rather finding any plausible explanation of how the balls could have deflated, thereby exonerating the Pats. (I could see this being a future segment on Mythbusters.)

Leaving no stone unturned to find something that will pass the sniff test and bring legitimacy back to the NFL without exposing the possible Super Bowl Champ.

What a fine mess!

Wig,

I agree 100%! The Cheat needs to go or this kind pushing-the-envelope kind of thing will be unstoppable.

No wonder other fans make fun of us. Rose BET on games while a member of MLB. Here, we are talking about balls that had a little less air in them.

How you think those two things are comparable is mind blowing. The zealots really give the rest of us bad reputations.

enough of acting like you are a Steelers fan...your posts show your true color and its not Black & Gold...move along

Pete was not gaining an advantage in the games his team played....belicheat routinely disregards the rules he thinks he can get around....so his team can gain an advantage....

Right, what Belichek did was cheating. What Rose did was something that could possibly give him an incentive to lose on purpose.

Pete's sin was as bad as it gets. The argument "well, he probably only bet on - not against - his team so there's no harm done" doesn't hold water. If he placed a big bet on his team to win some game in May (game 42 of 162), then he's going to manage that game differently than someone who didn't bet. He may end up using his closer for the 4th straight day, for example. He may put pressure on his team's #1 starting pitcher to suit up even if he has a nagging injury. You can't manage all 162 games like they are Game 7 of the World Series...good managers know that you may have to risk losing a game in May to win some games in September.

Ultimately, the point is Pete Rose has been barred from the Hall of Fame and thrown out of coaching. Belichick deserves at least as significant a penalty since his team has been caught on numerous occasions breaking the rules. It's all been under his tenure and Goodell has already let it be known that ignorance is not an excuse.

Clean up the NFL and let it be known that serial cheating isn't going to be encouraged. Particularly for one team. If that's how you're going to play it, stop having the preseason, regular seaons and playoffs altogether and just award the season trophy at the start of the year to the **'s so we can spend our time and money on something more useful.

It's nowhere near as stupid as comparing cheating in football to war crimes.

***** of patriots reminds me if the band on the titanic

Latest theory is that the billicheatts inflate their balls with hot air. As the air cools the balls deflate some. Thus they pass inspection but are "brady ready" by game time and they can deny deny deny!

Didn't he always bet on the Reds to win?

That's what he says and I guess a bookie would've been stupid to have taken his bet on his own team to lose, but I the primary concern of any sport with gambling is players or coaches throwing games.

One guy put his money where his mouth was the other cheated to affect the out come. Both engaged in illegal behavior to the detriment of the sport.

Foxborough fans feel persecuted.

Persecuted I tell ya.

[sarcasm font]
It seems that (numerically speaking,) a trend exists that shows the **s may have been statistically off the charts in terms of fumble-proof perfect for the last.. oh seven years.
[/sarcasm font]

(Yes, I know you've all seen that.)

And for you ridiculous **'s trolls out there who suggest that doesn't prove anything. It's true in THIS NFL, run by Kraft's stooges likely nothing will come of it, but remind yourself how Al Capone was finally brought down.gun.jpg
