Deflate-gate......God I hate the Pats!!!!

president of Wilson says Belichick is full of **** with his explanation.

http://deadspin.com/nfl-football-manufacturer-also-says-bill-belichick-is-f-1681802079

It's not just Bill Nye the Science Guy who isn't buying Bill Belichick's involved and theoretical explanation for how the Patriots's underinflated footballs might have gotten that way without any nefarious tactics. Representatives from Wilson, the company that makes the NFL's footballs, say that Belichick's ball story doesn't wash.

Science expert Bill Nye appeared on Good Morning America today to unequivocally call out Bill… Read more screengrabber.deadspin.com

Belichick mooted the idea that the difference in atmospheric conditions between where the footballs were inflated before the game and where they were measured at halftime—and found to be underinflated—could go to explain the reported drop in pressure. (It doesn't explain why the Colts' balls, which were prepared at the same time and place, were still at regulation psi.)

"That's BS," said Wilson rep Jim Jenkins, who explained to Boston.com the process of making footballs and how they maintain their integrity until game time. (Unless you put it in a freezer, he said, it's not going to fluctuate wildly under natural atmospheric changes for "maybe a year or two" after being manufactured.) And then again, for emphasis: "That's BS, man."

Another Wilson rep says something catastrophic—and likely intentional—would have to happen to the ball's internal air bladder to bring about the deflation the Patriots' balls are accused of undergoing.

"Well it couldn't [deflate] unless something happened to a bladder, but that really doesn't happen and there's no other real way," Wilson's director of experiential marketing Molly Wallace said. "

The real answer is that you should have paid more attention in school, maybe gone into a STEM field, and maybe you wouldn't be blogging 17 blogs about soft footballs as if this, any of this, could possibly matter in any way, ever, to anyone.

Well, now the story is that they've got some guy on video with the balls. Watch how quickly Coach changes his tune about science being the reason to it just being a rogue employee who did it. It's so comical and their idiot fans will lap it all up. Including the ones here who tried to explain it away by mythical magical science deflating the balls.

Atmospheric pressure will not change the ball pressure.

Temperature and moisture can.

AGAIN... I never said or endorsed anything Bill Belichick said in his press conference on Saturday. I listened to it and it was all over science-wise. I agree some of the stuff he said does not compute. When Belichick said "rubbing the football" or "atmospheric pressure" can effect a football both of those things are incorrect (at least incorrect to the level it won't effect the pressure measurably or significantly to matter).

From my research though, moisture and temperature can GREATLY effect pressure in a football.

It doesn't say "atmospheric pressure" slick. It says "atmospheric conditions." That includes ambient air pressure, temperature, humidity....

Try again.

A WILSON football? Manufactured to NFL standards? Or a H.S. football .... Maybe a regular old backyard football?

Pats** employee, Pats** responsibility. Fine and draft pick and we can all shut the hell up and move on. But, if I'm that guy, I'm thinking about how much my story is worth and I'm selling the truth to TMZ ... lol

There have been many much much colder and just as wet games in NFL history and yet THIS game is the one where they figure out that the balls deflate when they are cold and wet? With temps around 50 degrees? 20 degrees colder than room temperature.

Are you serious?

Yep, they are going to throw some low level employee under the bus. There is no way in hell Brady didn't know about this, likely Belichick too.

Breaking news: sources tell @FOXSports the NFL has zeroed in on a locker room attendant w Patriots who allegedly took balls from officials locker room to another area on way to field. Sources say they have interviewed him and additionally have video. Still gauging if any wrong doing occurred with him but he is strong person of interest

Kraft: "Hi, uh... what's your name again, son?"

Ball guy: "Bob, sir."

Kraft: "Bob, how'd you like to make a quick $100,000, completely under the table?"

Bob: "Really?"

Kraft: "All you gotta do is take the fall for this DeflateGate thing..."

This is taking a bit of a side-step from the current movement of the thread...but it's how I see it.

We are dealing with a private company, in the NFL. As such, they work very very hard to protect their brand, and the $10billion that comes along with it. The nature of how they operate nearly dictates that incidents like Spygate and De-flate-gate get covered up. Because evidence of "cheating" has far reaching implications.

Now you might say "yeah, but what about BountyGate, the league came down hard on them." Sure, but it didn't involve tactics that may have affected the outcome of games. That was a softball on a tee and Roger and the NFL were able to go after the Saints full force. The ramifications of finding out that players had bounty money paid to them for hard hits didn't have a direct correlation to affecting the outcome of games.

Then there are issues like SpyGate. Why did the NFL destroy the evidence? Because the evidence could have destroyed the NFL. Specifically, because of betting. I read the book Spygate the Untold Story, which was chock full of amazing data and statistics. In it, and I forget what the total was, but the amount of money bet on NFL games annually is astronomically unbelievable.

Now imagine, if it was "proven" that a team that won three Super Bowls, who'd admitted to video taping opponents signals over 10 years, was found to have benefited illegally and it determined the outcome of games? Couple in wiring defensive linemen, or the *Patriots shutting off communications of opposing teams (headsets) on critical drives, or stolen playbooks, etc. What if someone could PROVE that the *Patriots cheating ways had led to altering the outcome of games for a decade?

Now tie that back to the billions bet. Then think "class action lawsuits" of the variety and magnitude that would ruin the NFL.

It's real. If it is ever proven that the *Patriots cheating has caused the outcomes of countless games to have been altered, then it too would come out that the NFL destroyed evidence and tried to cover this up. The lawsuits would pile up like crazy.

The NFL is in a pickle. The *Patriots have put them there. I believe the *Patriots KNOW that the NFL can't truly expose them for cheating, as it could mean the death of the league, and this provides them ample gray area in which to continue to push the envelope.

The NFL is worried about concussions and past players lawsuits potentially bankrupting the league. This is just as big...if not bigger, should it ever be proven.

Just my two cents. The NFL has motivation to keep us from the truth...self preservation.

This is an interesting report .. so the Colts were tipped off by the Ravens to look for this ..

Apparently the balls in question were RE-inflated .. so WHY didn't they lose pressure in the second half ..

very interesting !!

Probably the best overview of why this is important and why the NFL will turn a blind eye. Some poor slub in the equipment room doing his job is going to go down instead of the coach or organization. The head of the snake will live on....

They can be punished under the "ignorance is no excuse " They did not follow protocol -- but we all know how that will go .

of course, this guy risked his job by his own choice without anyone else's knowledge or help, just to help his favourite team win the AFC title, just cause he's such an enthusiast fan... right.

And a 14 year veteran starting QB didn't even notice anything different about the balls.

Wouldn't it be great if someone attending the Super Bowl would bring a ball in with them, deflate it, and then just at the right moment, chuck that ****** onto the field somewhere in the vicinity of Brady and/or Belichek for all the world to see! Goodell would probably start crying.

Please, God. give someone with a Super Bowl ticket this idea and the fortitude to pull it off!

Apparently that won't be happening again anytime soon. Ol' Bob is on the NFL Network right now giving the NFL the business. Says that he has witnessed Brady and Belicheat having disagreements in the past and that both have lied to him in the past. However he stands behind them wholeheartedly. Bob further states that he is disappointed in how the league has handled this whole matter and he expects an apology from the NFL if no wrongdoing is found.

Given the tone of Kraft's statements, either the league finds some wrongdoing or he'll be pissed. And as we've been shown, a pissed Kraft brings with him a ticked off CBS and cabal of owners. The stakes have been raised and the ball is in your court Roger. Don't drop it you dolt.

Edit: post should have read "both have not lied to him in the past"

Not kidding ... his own words. You gotta hand it to him, the man has .... balls. LOL Seriously though, what an arrogant prick.

"a rogue agent in the locker room"

Of course. The Colts paid someone to deflate Brady's balls so they would only get beat by 38 points instead of 58. In the rain. Where a ball with less air in it is easier to grip. / tinfoil hat

Hoodie must be worried. I just saw him on TV in a suit and tie.
