Well I'm not saying he can't run a f'n out Bermuda. When they say that. It's a guy like Metcalf. He just doesn't have characteristics change of direction fluidity etc to run all routes well. I've seen nothing to think Pickens isn't an incomplete route runner so far. Not saying impossible just saying seen nothing leads me to believe.

The jury is still out on Arthur Smith. Guy has done nothing outside of Derrick Henry in Tennessee. He has as many fans in Atlanta as Russel has in Denver and Fields has in Chicago. Next to Zero. Every recent 1st rd pick in Atlanta has failed to live up to the hype. Pitts, London and to a slightly lesser extent Robinson.
Is anyone expecting Wilson to be a major upgrade from Dionte? Not me, Coming from a guy who didn't even like Johnson
The OL has to be better, and the linebackers and D backs have a shot a major improvement, but the NFL isn't college and the jury is still out.
Need to look at this team from the outside through a big picture lens. Before we get all delusional like some did last year in the preseason.
To anyone who says Muth can't block. Arthur Smith kicked him out of backs on backers because he was winning too much.

Muth spent a lot of "off-season" training for exactly that. He put on about 10lbs for strength, without affecting his overall speed.
Don't have link, but I read it in an interview of his earlier during OTAs.

I feel like if not for injury bugs this guy us top 10 TE waiting to happen. Durability is always the tough one to judge when inking a long term deal with a player.

At one point he was top 5 for TEs, obviously he isn't there now, but once the season gets going......... he will regain that designation.

The problem for fans. of an NFL football team isn't getting delusional, that is part of the fun. Hell, I'm an older fan and got caught up in the preseason last year. Every time I fish or hunt I'm gonna get that big trout or big buck or whatever. I love that anticipation and the fun of thinking that way. Hell, the Steelers could win the Super Bowl this year. Why not. You never know how things will shake out .
The important thing is how you respond when your delusions are shattered. Like Week 1 last year. Holy shiit, night and day. But I think that may be a benefit of being older now. It's no big deal.
I got caught up in the hype last pre-season, too. On paper, we looked good. Defense looked great and offense looked like they had excellent potential.
Remember Kenny picking things up and making good reads? then the season started.
I'm back to being indifferent, but looking at our roster and depth chart... hard to not get too excited. especially if one of our WRs not named Pickens steps up.

Muth may have hit the lotto. Contract year and he gets about the best offensive system he could have asked for as a TE. Apparently, a smart dude too as he is doing exactly what he needs to be ready for that offense.

I can’t wait to se the changes transferred to on field play. We have improved in many different areas, but the two biggest would IMLB personnel and OC. Add in a close third, would be the OL.

Looking at that picture the stupid stuff I think about. It's summer. It's gotta be hot out there. I don't understand these guys in long pants and sweatshirt layers like that coach. Karl Dunbar does, the DL coach. Not sure that's him, though. But that's a good point. Earlier this summer I was using some chemo cream for some precancerous spots on my neck and face. It was burning me up. Being out in the sun was tough.
I just looked up the weather for Phoenix. 114 today. Everyone always says it ain't the heat, it's the humidity. What's your opinion on that?

I grew up in AZ. My opinion is 114 is hot regardless. But when you walk into the shade it feels like air-conditioning
