Ever Blamed Your Wife for Something that Happened at Work?

goddammit, 21. Your idiocy never stops, does it?

"I wasn't that concerned about furniture. The next thing that I quite frankly heard about it was this $31,000 table had been bought. I said 'What the heck is this all about?'" Carson said. "I investigated and I immediately had it canceled."

"I'm a doctor Jim, not a decorator!"
What, you want Trump to decorate his office with HIS taste?

strippers, blow and porn stars everywhere!

**** yes.

with guns mounted on the walls.

To me this whole story is just another example of the ridiculous level of scrutiny given to anything and everything that happens in this administration.

Did anyone pay any attention to what Obama appointees spent on office furniture? I mean, I'm all for reigning in government spending and waste, but this is pretty nitpicky. Hillary's state department spent 5.4 million on crystal stemware but that was no biggie.

I'm on board that you get $0 to redecorate the White House, your office, anything. It looks like what it looks like. Here is a cinderblock building, it has heating/AC, a desk, couple of chairs and some filing cabinets. Good luck!

But if you can't have nice **** that you don't pay for, then there is no reason to work for the government. Oh wait....

Totally agree. Just like any other job.

Aside from normal maintenance and preserving historic aspects of the White House, no decorating budget. Anyone living rent free and making $450,000/year can afford to decorate their own living quarters. Most presidents are already independently wealthy before they even get there. It's ridiculous that we pay for redecorating every 4 or 8 years.

But that is just the tip of the iceberg of government waste.

I wanted to get a sports car. My wife wanted to get a Nissan Rogue because there was no room in the back seat for grand-kids. Why wasn't THAT on CNN??

ps I really like the Nissan.........

No, no, no. ElftardPoloLiar, 21, and others ASSURE me that government employees are the smartest, most dedicated and hardest-working people in America. They slave away for, well, slave wages and no benefits, just to benefit their fellow citizens. Their salaries are certainly lower than their counterparts in private industry.

Wait ...

figure-1-federal-v-private-wages.jpg

Yeah, fine, but private industry has MASSIVE employee benefits, so that makes up the difference.

Wait ...

figure-2-fed-compensation-v-federal.jpg

Okay, fine. However, government employees slave away and then have nothing to show for it at retirement, unlike the bounty that private citizens receive at retirement.

Wait ...

bg-federal-compensation-reform-chart-2-825.jpg

So government employees get a higher salary, much better benefits, much better retirement than do those who pay for their ****. But, but, but government employees work a lot more hours so it pans out. Right? RIGHT??

Not so much:

So go ahead and explain to my why government employees are supposedly "the best and the brightest" when in fact they suck on the taxpayer's tit, work less hours, get paid a lot more, get better benefits, and are showered with lavish retirement benefits.

I think if you look at the juxtaposition of Uncle Tom Carson who used government programs including housing to lift himself out of poverty, then was hired by this clownish administration to slash HUD......and now this.........you MIGHT get a clue as to the difference.

To me blaming his wife is worse than the purchase itself. This dimwit has no business being in a position of responsibility.

Uncle Tom Carson can't even get the fake news right, we all know it was the deep state that made him do it..............LMAO

GOP lawmaker blames 'deep state' for Carson's $31K dining set

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/379643-gop-lawmaker-blames-deep-state-for-carsons-31k-dining

Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) on Wednesday dismissed the controversy surrounding the purchase of a $31,000 dining set for Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson's office, blaming the decision on the so-called deep state.

Speaking on the "Talk! of the Town" radio show in upstate New York, Tenney said the controversy had been "misunderstood," and that it was unfair to place blame on Carson for ordering the lavish dining set.

"Somebody in the deep state – it was not one of his people apparently – ordered a table, like a conference room table or whatever it was for a room, and that's what the cost was," Tenney said.

The "deep state" refers to a conspiracy theory that deeply entrenched government employees are working to undermine President Trump and his agenda.

You know one wonders just how stupid Repugnican politicians think their constituents actually are. When I come on this board and read some of the musings of the usual CONservatives here I can easily assure any of those politicians; don't worry there is no bottom.

No, you don't, and never have.

Once again, the vile, contemptible left wing shows its true colors.

And once again the internet ambulance chaser ignores the elephant in the room and goes for the ad hominem attack instead.

Well maybe you can explain to lil ole me, I'm a bit confused as to how the heroes of the downtrodden needed to spend 5.4 million on crystal stemware. I'm awaiting your explanation, I'm sure the millions in crystal stemware (which wasn't even made in America) was somehow beneficial to ordinary working class Americans...Obama (and Hillary as part of his administration) doubled the national debt in 8 years but yeah that 30,000 dining room set sure affected a lot of people...

In any case I'm glad Ben Carson got called on it, no one should be abusing the trust of the taxpayers, no matter what side of the aisle they're on...the problem is no one seems to mind when Dems spend with reckless abandon. When the DC suburbs became the wealthiest counties in the country under Obama and Hillary...heroes of the poor and downtrodden.

Curious isn't it.

$5.4 million Clinton spent vs. $31,000. You don't have a clue as to where the difference really lies do you?

This time folks an exhibit of libtard double standards.

How many people could have been housed for $5.4 million? We can't have Hillary drinking out of subpar barware though.

The REAL strategy though is to go after the 30,000 splurge to distract from the fact that Trump is cutting millions from government bureaucracies and regulatory enforcement.

I don't care who spent what but these kind of spendings on this kind of stuff is ridiculous. The amount of money government wastes is mind blowing. Its not just trump or Obama its all of them. I don't really see things changing anytime in the next 100yrs. It would take a full govt shakeup / restructure.

The elephant in the room was led in by oneforthebus....the $4.5 million spent by the Hildebeest that you choose to ignore.

I agree...they are all guilty of it. The problem with the federal government is it is a huge, massive bottomless money pit and everyone reaches their dirty hands into it. The only solution is to shrink government. At this point I'd settle for shrinking the growth of government. I'm not a huge fan of Trump but he's the only one who's even chipped away at the edges of it in the last 20-30 years. Unfortunately the gutless cowards who make up most of the Republican party will cave to special interests as always.

At least he cut taxes which will somewhat starve the beast.

Trump is a fake prophet. I appreciate the extra $$ in my paycheck, but he is spending as much or more as the rest on security / vacations/ golf outings, etc etc. There are no consequences for govt spending. The debt just goes up and up, but yet if i owe the irs $25 they are knocking down my door.

Sounds like you're more than confused. That crystal was for our embassies all around the world, I suppose you want the U.S. government to serve refreshments at functions where dignitaries from other countries are present with a hodge podge collection of plastic tumblers from Wal Mart, and maybe some collectible Hamburglar glasses from Mc Donalds........

This was just a story taking out of context to help the Orange Turd in Chief during the election.

Meanwhile Uncle Tom Carson who is much like his boss basically doing nothing, does not need a furniture set like that. He's just a "token" sellout put there to destroy his own people as much as he can and then he's out. Think Rex Tillerson.

Seriously some of you people................
