Hi guys... Ravens fan here, but I love the Steelers when we're not playing you. Our teams are among the last of the smash-mouth football era. Regarding Tomlin, we hear the same calls to fire Harbaugh when we lose a playoff game and it would be silly to do so. The big issue is this... who is a better available coach? The answer is usually "nobody". As an outsider looking in, I think the same is true for the Steelers. Tomlin is a great coach. In my humble opinion, he takes teams farther than they should go with the talent he has available (often to the detriment of the Ravens, btw). This year is no exception. The weak link in the Steelers organization is talent gathering, not coaching, and getting great players at every position is very difficult in the NFL. There was a time when the Steelers had guys like Big Ben and Troy P with strong support at every position on both sides of the ball. What does Tomlin have now? Not much. The Ravens have been on a roll in recent years in the talent department. I guarantee you that, if Tomlin had the current Ravens roster to work with, you guys would be heading to the Super Bowl. If it were me, I'd be looking hard at the front office and leave Tomlin alone. Just my two cents.
Of course you want them to keep Tomlin. You are a Ravens fan!!!

Kick him up to team president we need way more energy in that coaching staff. We need a complete turnaround in what it is to coach for the Steelers. It should be regarded as the greatest job in football, a true meritocracy, a true jump off to a better job elsewhere. As of now it’s an old folks home for tomlin’s buddys. Horrible!!

28 headcoach’s have won a playoff since Tomlin won one. 20 fricken 8.

If that rat fan frickin likes him so much frickin take him.

Create a position inside the Steelers organization for him… move his salary there. Give everyone a BS excuse… he saves face, and the team gets a new coach.

Rooney needs to tell him to wave his no trade clause or see ya. One team has reached out in regards to trading for him. There's no more blaming players or coordinators, this is ******* embarrassing and a joke. This all on Tomlin, so sick of seeing this team look like a jv team and having zero energy in the playoffs. What a ******* joke.

It's way past time to move on from Tomlin but it won't happen unless Tomlin steps down. Rooney doesn't have the balls to do it and he doesn't want to lose the money he is on the hook for giving Tomlin a 3 year extension when he did. Tomlin and Rooney are to blame for all of this. I don't blame the players much simply because this nonsense has been going on for almost a decade now. Different players and GM. Same Rooney and Tomlin. A first grader can figure out the common denominator.

There probably aren't many teams Tomlin would be willing to waive the clause for.

If he likes Caleb Williams, he would maybe agree to go to the Bears, but it is all blind speculation at this point.

Tomlin and Pickens to

Jax for Trevor Lawrence and Christian Kirk
Raiders for 2026 1st round pick
Jets for Garrett Wilson or draft picks
Dallas for draft picks
Chicago for Rome Odunze plus picks
Atlanta for Bijan (doubtful) or Drake London plus picks
New Orleans for Chris Olave plus picks

So BOTH teams are losers in this trade scenario?

I am sure Caleb would be all on board to run the Tomlin led Offense that has been run here for years now.

No way does Chicago ownership bring Tomlin in after investing so much into Caleb.

Well, if there truly are as many teams out there creaming their panties at the idea of acquiring Tomlin as we're led to believe, it wouldn't be that far fetched.

Caleb grew up on the Tomlin kool-aid being peddled in the national media. He would probably be naively on board....with massive regret setting in about half way through the first season.

No way in hell I'd want that contract of Lawrence. That jagoffs are idiots for shelling that out to a guy not even remotely worth it.

I'm not sure how anyone can look at that and not believe there are some serious deficiencies in how the team is coached and prepared.
Insane that some are still out there blaming the players when this has lasted over multiple years, players, coaches, etc. Tomlin is the constant.

There would no doubt be teams that would fire their HC to get Tomlin. I think Jerry Jones would do it in a millisecond.

A great coach makes the best out of his roster. Can you seriously say Tomlin does that?

The Ravens staff made a whole O gamelan around Lamar Jackson to help him develop. When did Tomlin did anything remotely similar? He wants to run the ball so he signs a RB in the 1st but he didn't have the Oline to make his new 1st rounder shine, still he wastes that pick instead of investing in foundations. He drafts a TE in the 2nd but he rarely is featured in the game plan.

Tell me how is Tomlin improving this team? Where is his greatness? Is he a great communicator? Yeap. Is he a great motivator? Probably. But he is a head coach, not the team's psychologist and his responsibilities go far beyond being liked by his players. This is not Ted Lasso, this is ******* real life.
If Tomlin is the only one making draft and roster selections, you have a much bigger organizational problem than Tomlin. There is a reason players like Derrick Henry want to play for the Ravens, and its not just Harbaugh. Our owner made billions of dollars making personnel decisions... getting the right people in the right seats on the bus. This ethos permeates the Ravens and players know it. There is a long line of players like Henry who want to play for the Ravens which allows the team to be choosey. I don't see this ethos in the Steelers. What I see is a team that has a few players that are good and a bunch who are overpaid. Tomlin can't fix all of these things. And again, I would ask... what available coach would you want... and ... would they come if you called? Looking at the Titans, who have gone through similar times, I would suggest you be careful what you wish for.

He gets figured out, that's why Tomlin is notorious for late season collapses and hellish Decembers. Football games are like chess matches, and Tomlin is out mastered by most coaches. By late season teams have studied the tape and know what Tomlin will throw at them, so they adjust their schemes accordingly. Great coaches will anticipate, adjust to that and counter, but Tomlin has no answers/response. And yes, roster talent is important too but who's mainly responsible for building a winning roster full of talent? The coach.

Whatever they install by the start of the season they stay with ALL season. It never changes no matter what. I swear they haven't changed anything on defense in over a decade. Well other than rarely if,ever blitzing. And they certainly don't practice that much.

The team never looks polished on either side of the ball. It actually looks like they never practice.

They can't block or tackle well, are often out of position and really lack any kind of fire, intensity or aggression.

It's passive,not attacking.

It's a total disservice to the players, they deserve better. Yet they'll be the first ones to get thrown under the bus for lousy tactical decisions and gameplans... Which are a joke.
