FordFairLane’s 2022 BigBoard

Willis is not first round talent and concerned about rumors that the Steelers are salivating over him.

I will get **** on for this but Mason in his first starts has a better rating than these guys. /ducks
You have to consider the teams these guys are getting drafted by… big difference between Wilson starting for the jets or starting for the Steelers. you rather have Rudy over Wilson?

WR CALVIN AUSTIN III, MEMPHIS TIGERS 5'7 173 lbs

Remember this midget's name... He was a sr bowl workout stud and fits the mold of the small guy Tomlin adores... I'm not saying I do... but I totally expect him to be a guy we target

I found this big board interesting as it's the consensus among some of the top national draft analysts.

There are some interesting players once you start to get around that 18-20 range.

WR - Jameson Williams, Chris Olave
OL - Trevor Penning, Bernhard Rainmann, Kenyon Green
IDL - Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt
CB - Andrew Booth, Kaiir Elam

Highest QB isn't until 29.1 with Kenny Pickett.

I don't think they go EDGE, so if those are the nine guys available, what direction do you go?

Let's start by discarding: wyatt, olave, rainmann, Elam might be found at the the early 2nd round so that leaves 5 guys, all of them sound great and I doubt they will be all available. We could trade back 4 to 5 spots and still get one of these BPAs. I guess depending on the free agency process there will be a more obvious need

1. Williams 2. Davis. I go one or the other if one is there.

If it fell that way, I'd hope we go Penning

Wyatt is interesting because I think he offers that element of a pass rush as well. I do believe he would be a bit high at 20, but an interesting player.

I have my offensive board updated. If there's someone you want me to look at specifically let me know. Some of these guys are pretty hard to find a lot of non-highlight film of. But it is a lot easier now with the advent of YouTube than it was 10 years ago. I will start working on defense this week.

Great work as usual. I keep seeing Linderbaum and Kenyon Green as can't miss 1st rounders, with so few top C available is fair to bump him to first round grade. Same goes for GREEN, he probably is the only G worthy of a 1st round pick this draft

Zion Johnson is another name who I see creeping up into the first round. He's being mentioned as a potential guard or center.

A lot rides on Linderbaum’s measurements in my opinion. Watching tape he is extremely athletic, good feet, used in the second level a lot, great technique and leverage. But I did see a common theme. When sitting in pass protection he typically was part of combo blocks and rarely left one-on-one. I only watched him specifically vs Michigan and Penn State and his run blocking is exceptional. But the few times he had the DT lined up over top of him he got walked back. And I remember one of those times being by Penn States freshman DT who replaced Mustipher. I feel he just doesn’t have the arm length or sand in his pants to take on a NT lined up on the ball.

Green is literally the opposite. If you have him sit in s phone booth he’s going to stone his man. But you get him out in space and he just gets blown by. I don’t know if it’s lack of awareness or athleticism. I mean you melt those two together and you have a perfect IOL. Like Creed Humphrey lol.

I don’t think either are a “can’t miss” prospect. I think both have high floors but imo neither are as good of prospects as Creed Humphrey or Landon Dickerson. I’d even put Josh Myers ahead of both if they were coming out this year.

A guy I think has some definite upside to look at is Nick Ford from Utah. He is big, long arms, and pretty nimble for 6-5 317lbs.

Honesty I wouldn't draft Linder in the 1st, is he better technically than kendrick green? Of course, can he handle maulers in the NFL with his size? I seriously doubt it and that's not worth a 1st round pick in my opinion. Not with so many other talented players available there at 1.20, one of the top WR, CB, ILB and even OT will be available there, maybe Jamal Davis too.

He might very well overtake #1 center position for me. I saw him at the Senior Bowl play center and he looked good. Really good. He has the size at 6-3, 314, 34” arms and 11” hands. His movement skills were above average. Could be a riser if he workouts well at the combine and pro day.

Put it this way. Dan Moore as an OT went in the 4th round. I think if Moore would have kicked in to guard he’d of been a better prospect than Green. That’s why I’m thinking get a stud LT like Penning and slide Moore inside. That would shore up the left side. JC, Green and later round pick can fight it out for center. But I’d make the decision sooner than later because whoever doesn’t get OC then fights it out for RG with Dotson.

I really like this idea with the LT LG slide.

Salute the nation

Board is up. There’s tweaking but pretty solid. I’m sure I forgot a few but tell me who you want me to scout and I’ll see if they’ll make the board.

He is a pure center not a conversion problem. Like Carlton Haselrig he has that wrestling background that he understands leverage, angles etc. I run to the podium for Lind he will be a special center. Quote me.😁

I won't hehe but I really don't want him in the 1st round, trade down and get zion who can play C and G in case green becomes serviceable.

Not sure they trade down for Zion but he is a realistic option at 20 and very well could be a semi sleeper pick. Sleeper in the manner not many Steeler fans are pointing in his direction.

Early on people were calling Linderbaum top 5 worthy, which is crazy for a center… i could back him as a first rounder, but id rather have the k green in this draft as our next stud guard and swing tackle in a pinch
