We do the same thing game in and game out. On both the defense and offense side of the ball. Sorry. Just the way it is. I don't call the plays.C'mon man...that's just common sense and a blanket answer. The real answer is NO.
About two weeks ago I said that I already know the first play for the rest of the games. I have not been wrong yet.We do the same thing game in and game out. On both the defense and offense side of the ball. Sorry. Just the way it is. I don't call the plays.
Well, since 2016 lets say, 5 coaches have won a Super Bowl, and Andy Reid and Bill Belechick have 5 between them. 3 other coaches have won. So that means in the last 8 years, only 5 coaches have gotten anybody anything. It ain't that easy.@Bills, 31-17 L

Nothing needs resaid, the Tomlin way gets you nothing. Those are the last 7 years. Never any advancement in those 7 years.
Not this year. No, just reports about him being the worst LT in the league, that's all.
No, but other teams coaches / players have stated multiple times that we do the same stuff over and over. The only game that has really looked different has been the Cinci game. We rarely blitz on D anymore and play a soft zone. We have basically eliminated one of our best playmakers by having him play center field and do diddly squat. We rely on turnovers and TJ being a one man wrecking crew. Good QBs just destroy the Tomlin zone and it is way outdated. On offense we run into brick walls and defenses can call out our plays. If something isn't working we just continue to do it over and over. This year it's the toss runs to najee, previously we had the jet sweeps, before that we had the shotgun draw...Very frustratingCan you HONESTLY say that you've seen the SAME GAME PLAN, offensively & defensively for every game this season???
Well, since 2017, let's say...how many head coaches have zero playoff wins and still have their job with the same team?Well, since 2016 lets say, 5 coaches have won a Super Bowl, and Andy Reid and Bill Belechick have 5 between them. 3 other coaches have won. No one. I agree. I've said this before, but it is possible to have multiple, competing thoughts. I can wish the Steelers would have moved on from Tomlin but at the same time tire of the endless whining.Well, since 2017, let's say...how many head coaches have zero playoff wins and still have their job with the same team?
Fields (the closer) likely outBattered squad ? 3 were hurt prior to the Eagle game should be back. 2 hurt during the game 1 should be back and one might miss it TJ.
They are deep at OLBer so have no excuse if TJ is out.
Sure they might lose to the rats but it won’t be because they are battered.
There are a couple Van Jefferson pre snap motions that are followed by a run play 100% of the timeWe do the same thing game in and game out. On both the defense and offense side of the ball. Sorry. Just the way it is. I don't call the plays.
That would be a huge winStill, hope someone else pays him enough in FA to get a comp 4th for him
I’ll give ya IND Manning was goodBaltimore is about to have a 3 time MVP and is only 2-5 in the playoffs. Why aren't they going to win a SB? Cause they have to go up against better teams like KC and BUF in the playoffs just like we had to go up against IND/DEN with Manning and NE. Congrats, you now know what the Campbell era 70s Oiler fans feel like. A fantastic team that had to play the Raiders and Steelers in the playoffs to try to get to a SB, which they never did.
All that is fine, and on some level I agree with you. On another level, they are football players and paid to play football. If they are healthy enough to play, they ought to play. If Tomlin says, "Well, if this was a playoff game, they'd play" they ought to play.Fields (the closer) likely out
Pickens (our best offensive threat) should still be held out
DJ (starting corner) likely out
Watt (best defensive player) should be held out
Elliot (best performer in secondary this year) good
Chance he’s out
Seeing a lotta DNP’s for key players
Will Mikey maybe in desperation try to rush someone back and further aggravate injury-likely
As a precaution to have guys healthy for playoffs no way in hell I’d play 4 of those 5
So yeah, I’d stick with battered squad
The good news is we have an old QB looking like an old QB
A mediocre RB
No WRs
And a couple TES we rarely throw to cuz we don’t use the middle of the field
Right now we look like the easiest playoff team
Offense to defend
So yeah,
Probably want to rest some guys and get some
Form of health for the playoffs for this battered squad.
At least the Rats aren’t a physical D anymore so we shouldn’t take the usual pounding associated with this rivalry game.
Thing is what you are reporting isn’t what they reported. We will get a better feel for that when well they report it.Fields (the closer) likely out

He's still a bottom feeder of LTsNot this year.
.And in the last 4 playoff games, that is what Mediocre Mike has delivered. All Ls.Well, since 2016 lets say, 5 coaches have won a Super Bowl, and Andy Reid and Bill Belechick have 5 between them. 3 other coaches have won. Being that Fautanu is hurt, what would you have them do? As I have stated, I wish they would have started camp with Jones at LT and Fautanu at RT. But if a few reports out there were true, Jones maybe didn't work hard enough. Should it just be handed to him? He's still a bottom feeder of LTs
I've been a Steeler fan since I remember anything in the early 70s. I am well aware of the results since that time. It won't change no matter how much you repeat it. I believe it has no bearing on this year, so I could care less..And in the last 4 playoff games, that is what Mediocre Mike has delivered. All Ls.

You will always have to endure wah, wahing over how Tomlin sucks until one of two things happenAll that is fine, and on some level I agree with you. On another level, they are football players and paid to play football. If they are healthy enough to play, they ought to play. If Tomlin says, "Well, if this was a playoff game, they'd play" they ought to play.
But here is the thing. Let's say they hold all those guys out as a precaution, and they lose. Will we have to endure all next week the wah, wahing over how Tomlin sucks? See, this is the perfect example of the no win he is in. He holds them out and they don't win, people biitch. He plays them and someone gets hurt again, even if they win, people will biitch. Oh, boy, if he plays them, they lose, and someone gets hurt worse, look out. If he plays them, they win, no one gets hurt worse, I'm sure there will be a timeout he either called or didn't call with about 47 seconds left somewhere that people will biitch about.
I think a lot of fans would quiet off of a playoff win.You will always have to endure wah, wahing over how Tomlin sucks until one of two things happen
1) Tomlin wins another SB (with a team he built)
2) Tomlin is no longer HC
And tbh either one of those won’t stop some from wah, wahing
There is a simple solution though, he could grow and get better every season like he always preaches to his players…if he did that SBs would eventually stack up and people would eventually stop wah, wahing…well except for a real special few who will never get over him for failing (being mediocre) for as long as he has already in their eyes. But 17 damn seasons in many of us watch the same mistakes over and over with very little growth from him. Shame he doesn’t practice what he preaches. Maybe the HC needs a coach?
I’m not reporting just looking at all the DNPs from Tue and WedThing is what you are reporting isn’t what they reported. We will get a better feel for that when well they report it.
Mike hasn’t rushed people back he has let their practice participation be their guide. Hell even the guys coming off IR usually are sat a week before he lets them play.
I get it in the game they were banged up but for now that is all it is.
Reports are Watt is leaning towards playing and him and Larry were limited participants today.I’m not reporting just looking at all the DNPs from Tue and Wed
Which all the listed players (other than Watt who isn’t human) are all DNPs and Watt was very limited but did participate per reports
Not me reporting just reading a practice report
The Watt thing can be kind of concerning too cuz he’s such a beast sometimes a coach has to protect a player from himself. It’s a predicament as the team has proven it can’t win without Watt and now they face the most important game of the season so far. Watt will give it a go if someone doesn’t stop him cuz he knows we need him if we’re gonna win. Just hope he doesn’t aggravate his injury cuz they’ll obviously need him moving forward in the playoffs.
That’s what scare meReports are Watt is leaning towards playing and him and Larry were limited participants today.
Tuesday wasn’t really a true practice.
To know who is out we can look at Thursday’s report which is basically Friday’s this week.
Sure I hope it doesn’t aggravate the injury but it is up to the coaches to know how a player is or isn’t progressing.
I have seen nothing to suggest they will push a player out there that shouldn’t be.
I am starting to lean towards three being banged up and possibly not playing which would be significant but it is what it is.
I dunno I never expected a lot based off their track record. Thought they would be good for one or two playoff wins. Still think that is possible. That’s what scare me
When it’s up to Mike, a guy that can never think more than 1 move ahead in a game of chess…and a guy with a long history of beating the horses to the point of nothing left for the home stretch. He’s simply not capable of the load management required by 3 games in 10 days.
We’ll see what happens, but my optimism that lasted through pretty much the whole
Season slipped back to the reality of what’s likely coming our way…yet again
The Good thing is there will be college games on Saturday as a consolation/distraction if this **** gets outta hand and we play opposite Texas/Clemson which should be interesting.
This is what I mean by there seems to be this idea that if Tomlin would just miracle that somehow, or they would get another coach, why, the Super Bowls would "stack up." It's just that damn easy. As if there are not 31 other teams trying to do the same things. And people wonder why some of us get frustrated with the arguments here. I don't think you are one of them, but I really believe some people think well, shiit, it's a snap of the fingers and boom! You will always have to endure wah, wahing over how Tomlin sucks until one of two things happen
1) Tomlin wins another SB (with a team he built)
2) Tomlin is no longer HC
