Going back-back, to cali cali... I mean Iraq

Syrian airstrikes would indicate that the government of Syrian President Bashar al Assad finds it advantageous in supporting the beleaguered government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki.

That is just stupid. It sounds like someone must think having a stable government in Iraq is good for the region. We know that is dumb.

Well at least someone is trying to stop them. I say give him back his chemical weapons.

Balls deep.....

Military aircraft that conducted air strikes against ISIS military targets in western Iraq are believed to have been from Syria's air force

Mission accomplished!

Iran Sending Drones and Supplies into Iraq, U.S. Officials Say

BRUSSELS — Iran is directing surveillance drones over Iraq from an airfield in Baghdad and is secretly supplying Iraq with tons of military equipment, supplies and other assistance, American officials said. Tehran has also deployed an intelligence unit there to intercept communications, the officials said.

The secret Iranian programs are part of a broader effort by Tehran to gather intelligence and help Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki’s government in its struggle against Sunni militants with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria.

Gen. Qassim Suleimani, the head of Iran’s paramilitary Quds Force, has visited Iraq at least twice to help Iraqi military advisers plot strategy. And Iran has deployed about a dozen other Quds Force officers to advise Iraqi commanders, and help mobilize more than 2,000 Shiite militiamen from southern Iraq, American officials said.

Maliki thumbs his nose at Kerry and Obama....teams up with Assad and Iran

I can't wait till Lurch writes them another warning letter for crossing that red line in the sand

You know, years ago when Britain left the region they crafted these borders in hopes that the regions would forever be at war with themselves... they got their ******* wish... Iraq should have been four states... heck all of them needed to be divvied up better... I mean that probably doesn't solve religious intolerance driving politics, but still it would be easier to maintain

Obama asks for authorization to provide direct military training to Syrian rebels

The Obama administration has asked Congress to authorize direct U.S. military training and equipment for Syrian opposition fighters, a move that could significantly escalate U.S. involvement in Syria’s civil war.

Money for the program, which would expand a current CIA covert training program, is included in a $65.8 billion request for Overseas Contingency Operations, or OCO, added to the fiscal year 2015 Defense Department budget. Details of the OCO budget had been withheld from the budget request that Congress has been considering

Iraq buys Russian jets to ‘destroy the terrorists’ dens’ after long delays waiting for U.S. F-16s

Iraq has bought used fighter jets from Russia and Belarus to battle Islamist militants after long delays in the delivery of F-16 planes from the U.S. left troops without air support, Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki said.

The jets “should arrive in Iraq in two or three days,” Al-Maliki said.

“We shouldn’t have just bought U.S. jets, we should have bought British, French and Russian jets to provide air support. If we had air support, none of this would have happened.”

Texas man pleads guilty to attempt to join ISIS

9x16

A 23-year-old Texas man admitted Friday that he had been practicing military maneuvers and planned to travel to Syria to join ISIS, the terror group that has claimed thousands of lives in a violent march through Iraq in recent weeks.

Michael Wolfe, a.k.a. Faruq, of Austin, Texas, pleaded guilty to one count of attempting to provide support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization, according to a statement issued by the U.S. attorney's office in San Antonio.

He was arrested 10 days ago when he tried to board a flight out of Houston. Another man, 23-year-old Rahatul Ashikim Khan, was arrested the same day at his house in Round Rock, Texas, and was charged with trying to recruit men to join terrorist organizations, federal authorities said.
