Much can be said here and I have, but let us focus on invasion.
An embassy is the sovereign ground of the country whose embassy it is. The US embassy in Baghdad is the same as Pennsylvania in terms of it's sovereignty and the President's obligation to defend it. Soleimani 's thugs attacked it. They sought to breach it and who knows what else. Their serious miscalculation was that they thought Trump "couldn't do anything". Not only 'could' he, but he was obligated to by his oath of office. He immediately sent the cavalry and ordered the hit on the perps. It was proportional by every measure of the crime. Anything less would have been Tehran under Jimmy Earle and Bengazi under the Kenyan Interloper - utter failure to act as is the duty of their office, and arguably treason it the case of the latter.
Note that Iran's embassy at 1250 23rd St NW #200, Washington, D.C. 20037 stands unscathed. America honors Iran's sovereignty. In the words of the late Sam Wyche, "This isn't Cleveland!".
Further to the perps. Soleimani and his thugs are responsible for the particularly violent and deadly armor piercing IEDs that have taken the lives of thousands of our dear boys and maimed countless others. Anything less that the hit when Soleimani is in the cross hairs would shrink from the debt owed those killed or maimed by those animals. Not nearly proportional but adequate under the circumstances. Add in the hundreds of thousands that have died at the hands of Soleimani and his thugs, and the jubilation at his 'passing' can be understood. He (they) was a butcher and needed to be dead - legally. The embassy attack was among the predicates.

I don't think it's a matter of knowing or not knowing. I think they are so blinded in their hatred of Donald Trump and conservatives that they honestly believe that living under the oppressive laws of Iran is preferable to living in America right now. And again, I don't know how you get there.
I didn't like Obama, but through 8 years of his stupidity, my life really didn't change all that much and neither has theirs since Trump took office, except in their deranged little minds.

Eh, as much as I would like to think that, the one thing we should have learned from Iraq is that in the middle east, nobody is hated like Americans are hated. I expect this to cause a lot more instability and America hate but it had to be done. Can't just let them continue to attack us with impunity.
