Maybe, and to your point when a newspaper piece came out saying the Falcons really needed to get a QB, Arthur Banks was quick to endorse him… the reality is that he is still pretty raw and if they give him a full year next year, he will most likely go through more growing pains than pickett did last season…
The issue becomes that both their GM and their Coach are in year 3 of their rebuild… they need results, not on the job training at the key position on the team. If they opted to bring in Action Jackson, it almost certainly would cost them their first and probably Ridder too… which is why they probably could outbid most teams on price… the Hairball can go back to the offense he is more comfortable with… aka strong run game and Te… thats key for a young qb…

Frankly I d rather that not happen
Ridder already had on-the-job training in 2022. He'll have a full offseason in the system. He's going to be a good quarterback very soon, in my opinion. And it's not like Atlanta is one player away from contending -- they were 24th in total offense and 27th in total defense last season. They can't afford to mortgage away their future by overpaying for Lamar Jackson. At least they shouldn't.

I don't think Baltimore, or any other team in the league, is dumb enough to pony up what Lamar wants.
Assuming they'll throw a tag on him for next year, then let him walk. He's a legend in his own mind.

I think you are underestimating how stupid some teams are. Look at Cleveland.

You can't help but be concerned with his durability giving him such a large, guaranteed contract. I'm sure some team will look past it and think he's worth it.

This is why I wanted so bad for them to sign him last year. His MomA (and him) ****** that up.

One can only hope they get him signed higher than they want to and for longer than they want to. Guarantee the length AND as much of the contract as possible

ALL this coming from an opposing fan.

I think the Rats just tag him with the non-exclusive tag and let another team work out a deal. If they like the contract they match. If not they take the 2 first round picks and walk away.

I’m thinking they don’t come to terms on a contract, thus forcing a tag.

Action wants the ”full guarantee”, similar to rub-N-tug, but the Club knows better.

I just wish this all happened last season and they came to a fully guaranteed 6 yr contract worth just short of 243 million.

But alas, someone in the bunch, got smart!!!

Someone needs to explain to the QRB that market value is what the market will pay at that moment… just because yesterday some dim bulb paid a billion dollars for a crushed beer can doesn’t mean that every beer can is now worth a billion bucks… one idiot owner overpaid greatly… that doesn’t mean that any other owner will be that dumbassed

My fear is the ravens learned from killing their cap with Flacco's deal. If they let him go who would they go after as a starting QB?

Cleveland owner let dummies work the Watson contract. I saw an interview with one of the lead negotiators for Cleveland. He seemed about as smart as a recent high school graduate. Equity.

Daniel Jones wants $45 million. That means the Rats should give Lamar 6 years, 360 million, fully guaranteed (or at least 300 million guaranteed). I would pee my pants in laughter.

I would say the biggest issue is he has his mom acting as his agent. Yes, you heard that right. Now I don't know Ms. Felcia Jones but I can all but guarantee she doesn't know what she is doing. She thinks he son is the greatest athlete of all time. And her complete ineptitude is probably making the whole process unbearable for the Ravens front office. I am sure they have been cordial as they want to work out a deal but behind closed doors they are probably flabbergasted at her dimwittedness.

That is not earth shattering news. It has been talked about here and how he recently went away from his mom as an agent. Perhaps it was reported from one of the half a dozen people you blocked.😅

I swear this guy gets more like cooch every day.

You heard it here first!

I was going to remind as well that yes, his MomA is not in the picture anymore. He is acting on his own and I’m thinking he has very bad advice being whispered to him.

LeVeon Bell went down that same road to a degree but he had an agent. LB wouldn’t listen to his agent though.

High School Graduate = PHD in Cleveland 😁

Here is a Steven A. Smith report claiming Action / Jackson's camp contacted him to set the record straight.

It's different than what has been being reported, good read.

It's time for a "correction" to the QB market, although I hope it doesn't happen before the Ratbirds sign Jackson. There's way too many average (or worse) QBs making top dollar.

Last season Ryan Tannehill was a cap hit of $38.6 million, comprised of $29 million base salary, $5 million signing bonus and 4.6 million restructure money. In what world is that right?
