Jackson extension?

I was going to remind as well that yes, his MomA is not in the picture anymore. He is acting on his own and I’m thinking he has very bad advice being whispered to him.

LeVeon Bell went down that same road to a degree but he had an agent. LB wouldn’t listen to his agent though.

Well, that is the only person probably less qualified to work out a complex contract negotiation than his mom. I would assume the Ravens at this point have already decided on using the tag. Any talks are probably grandstanding for appearance purposes.

It's time for a "correction" to the QB market, although I hope it doesn't happen before the Ratbirds sign Jackson. There's way too many average (or worse) QBs making top dollar.

Last season Ryan Tannehill was a cap hit of $38.6 million, comprised of $29 million base salary, $5 million signing bonus and 4.6 million restructure money. In what world is that right?
There's two mindsets in the NFL. The Lamar, DeShaun, Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, etc that it's all about me and my money. Then you have the Brady's and Roethlisberger's of the world. Take less to try to surround yourself with talent. Ben and Tom could have made millions more but how many rings would each have?

Action’s MomA was out of the picture, nearly as fast as she was in the picture, once it was made public. Action’s “team” got to much spank-back media / social media / agents / and the Ravens (probably the ones who put the word out to begin with). I’m not saying it was done publicly but the little “quip” that read was months ago.

PLEASE refrane from ever using Brady’s and Roethlisberger’s or Tom and BEN names in the same sentence, on this website.

T*mmyb*y doesn’t deserve that respect of any kind, due to how I’ll answer you question, in a simplified form……..

t*mmyb*y would have won the same number because it wasn’t his act of kindness that funneled him money under the table through his “fitness“ business. ALSO it wasn’t t*mmyb*y’s kindness that allowed the cheating ****-ing ***-holes to continue to CHEAT other franchises out of super bowls. It also wasn’t t*mmyb*y’s kindness that gave him “SPECIAL” on field privilege than many other QBs never even snifted, including ROETHLISBERGER being ****-ed many times over.

So, don’t give us the **** reasoning using t*mmyb*y in a reasoning state with ROETHLISBERGER being a criteria.

Hate Brady if you want but the reason he's the GOAT is because of his selflessness and brains. Not arm. He took less money every year to surround himself with the best team to win super bowls. Roethlisberger started to do that later in his career so kudos to him. But the guy who did that throughout his career has the most rings. I tip my hat to Brady for being a team first QB. Getting all out of sorts over it makes absolutely no sense.

Meh..The Rooney's sold out for the $$$$$. They helped sweep the cheating under the rug. Brady and his cheating bother me less and less every year. And as the years go by my love for the NFL is less and less every year.

he didnt take less money, just collected it under the table.

Yeah I hate any example of that guy. They did anything and everything to cheat and did it well. That is the only thing he is the poster boy for. I mean we know the guy was a solid QB but not to the level that the world pumps him up to be. **** him and that whole organization with DiC's mumbo jumbo elite red hot poker with interchangeable attachments.

I love how the Jackson camp is putting out the narrative that he isn’t asking for his entire contract to be guaranteed “only” like 200 million of it… basically he is asking for a super long term contract with 200 million guaranteed… they just aren’t going to do that… its too risky… you would have a two to three year window to win then be destroyed for like five years

Sure would be a lot more enticing if he wasn't a RB playing QB. Now missing significant time due to injuries. That he is more prone to from running here running there running everywhere.

Wondering if those tires are starting to wear.

Personally I hope the Steelers have a similar problem in another 3 years.
Unless Kenny turns out to be Patrick Mahomes, which I'm not counting on, if he wants that kind of money it'll be time for the next "franchise QB". Far too many overpaid QBs are hamstringing their teams against the salary cap and not allowing them to compete because of depth.

I know how NFL contracts work and I also know that Patrick Mahomes is in a league of his own right now and it would be hard to justify any contract above what he is getting paid right now.

Good chance Jackson turns into the next RG III.

There's a few other very good QBs but I don't think any even approach the level of Mahomes. Thus they shouldn't be drawing near the salary.

It wasn't that long ago RBs were massively overvalued. I think it's a matter of time before most QBs are found to be the same. What happened in SF this year was no fluke.

Yep. San Fran has a good team. Put a decent QB in there and bam you have some wins.

I love Ben. He got us 2 Lombardi Trophies and was great to watch. But Ben did us no favors with his contract in his prime years. Otherwise there's a good chance he'd have more than 2 Super Bowls.

Individual Salaries should be capped at 20% of the salary cap. If the rank n file Players had brains they would totally vote in individual caps to spread the wealth more or demand twice the vet minimum or larger rosters.., all these cap increases just funnel right to the qbsand a handful of stars more or less

I agree with what you say is happening. It's up to the individual team's GMs to spread out the money in a manner to make their team the most competitive. Caving in to a few players unless they are head and tails better than their peers at their position isn't the answer. It's all about evaluating talent and value.

BEN re-worked his contract several different times to lower the cap hit. It’s the pushing money forward that got the STEELERS in trouble, similar to todays cap predicament they are currently in.

Remeber, high salary or low salary…….. we still had the same HC along the way. STACKED teams and yet nothing.

Just hate to see BEN being blamed again for things out of his control.

t*mmyb*y is used as an example yet nothing, crickets on the under the table money shoveled his way. If the Rooneys would have made moves like that everybody would be bitching…. And probably still blaming BEN.
