#1- Darius Slayton Giants
Not a flashy name but at a cost if 1.9m or less, likely conditional late day 3 pick, and at 27 could earn a contract extension after the season. Not gonna be your #1 but he’s a good number two who has been hindered having Daniel Jones as his QB. If you give a guy like George 30m a season you probably don’t have a lot of cash left. A guy like Slayton probably signs for that 5m-6m range.

#2- John Metchie III Texans
The former 2nd round pick has yet to be activated during a game. That means Rober Woods is firmly ahead of him on the depth chart. This likely takes a little more in draft capital but I don’t think Houston sniffs a 2nd or 3rd for him anymore. If the price is right and I think a mid day three with perhaps a conditional upgrade with catches/yards would be a decent option.

#3- DeAndre Hopkins Tennessee
Long in the tooth but would be a nice complimentary number two option. Problem here is he’s a rental. Titans would have to pay part of his 2024 salary to boot. This likely would be a day 3 conditional compensation.

#4- Adam Thielen Carolina
I know he was just placed on IR in a bit of a surprising move but that would mean he would be eligible to comeback after the bye week vs the Giants. That would give us 10 games with one of the best possession receivers in the NFL. If he produces his 4m 2025 salary would be a nice cheap option for a #2 receiver.

#5- Alec Pierce Colts
Pierce was picked one spot behind Pickens and has had a solid career with 500+ yards the last two seasons. But Adonai Mitchell is hot on his heels. This likely wouldn’t happen unless the colts start off with a couple more losses, which hopefully we add to Sunday.

Do we need to? BA should be coming our way any day now.

If Hopkins is healthy, he would be my choice at the right price.
I am torn between Pierce and Thielen, I think both can be solid number two’s.

Is Hunter Renfro available?

DJ?could be had in the cheap

Hopkins is off that list. I think I would take off Pierce and put on kirk/Gabe Davis. My guess at this point is Adam Thielen for a conditional 7th is the most likely scenario. We could trade for him on the bye week. He can get a playbook in his hands and get one on one with coaching. Maybe Russ and him can do some workouts. Then he can play after the bye week and get at least in on the rotation.

I just don’t see a splash player at the moment. So we go cheap and get a good route runner with good hands. Kupp is too expensive and I think the Rams probably want something in return. Slayton could be an option but I doubt it. Davis and Kirk probably cost too much draft capital. Thielen seems to be the one that makes the most sense.

Not a lot left on the board.

#1- Theilen remains the most likely candidate if a trade happens. Panthers are a dumpster fire with some decent youth receivers making Johnson expendable and maybe Theilen. I think if the Ravens got Johnson for swapping a 6th for a 5th a conditional 7th gets Adam.

#2- Jacobi Meyers is my next likely candidate. Raiders are probably looking to unload some salary and Meyers is due 11m next year. Meyers is a big bodied receiver who is a good possession guy. Likely takes some Van Jefferson snaps.

#3- KJ Osborn is my pick of the likely available Pats receivers. He’d be another conditional 7th and only cost a few hundred thousand in salary. Probably a rotational guy but I watched a bit of him at Minnesota and if you get him a decent QB he’s a solid 700+ yard receiver.

#4- Jalin Hyatt is probably expendable. 2023 3rd round pick is not going to get many targets with Nabirs and Slayton ahead of him and especially since Daniel Jones is the QB. I really wanted Slayton but his cheap contract and firm grip as the #2 receiver makes that very unlikely even for the 2-6 Giants. You might pry him away but draft compensation I feel would be too costly. Where Hyatt can probably be had for a late day 3.

#5- Cooper Kupp is not too likely after the win over the Vikes. 2 game win streak with the division leaders all being 4-4 vs their 3-4. Perhaps a big trade package does it but nothing less than a day 2 pick.

I asked AB if he would come back to the Steelers on Monday and he said “ my agent is phone charged”….

So I guess that means call his agent..
