NFL 2023 draft simulator

pff draft:

17. Broderick Jones, T, Georgia
32. Tyree Wilson, Edge, Texas Tech
49. Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon
80. JL Skinner, S, Boise State
120. Cedric Tillman, WR, Tennessee
193. Brandon Dorlus, DT, Oregon

some of the players listed at PFF are ranked far lower than at PFN, and vice versa.

Consider a Mike backer similar in size to Kirkland Drew Sanders Arkansas at 32 and the nose tackle from Baylor if the Steelers daft those with Cam the two edges it would shake up every team we play next year. Think about that....

If the draft fell this way in the first few rounds, holy crap! One of the top 2 OT's and OG's in the entire draft to fix our OL for the next decade. We get the big freak NT and a freak EDGE. I don't even care about the other picks.

I personally would love the 1st 4 picks.

I personally would love the 1st 4 picks.
We might have to move Peter to Guard though. Some people frown on short Peter's.

1.17 Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois
I think Christian Gonzalez will wind up as CB1 with Cam Smith going second. That leaves a big group of cornerbacks next in line. Witherspoon just feels like a Steelers pick.

2.32 Bryan Bresee, IDL, Clemson
Each year a talented prospect falls because of injury red flags. I was surprised Bresee dropped in this draft, but they rarely last long into the second round. While Siaki Ika is the popular pick, the Steelers don't use DL like him. Bresee is more in the mold of what they currently use.

2.49 Darnell Wright, OT, Tennessee
Experience at both right and left tackle, The Steelers can use an upgrade at either spot. See where he fits best and let him compete.

3.80 Jack Campbell, ILB, Iowa
Super productive in college who can tackle. He's not the prototypical modern LB teams are looking for, but who cares. Campbell is just going to be a good player and great value in the third.

4.117 Andrew Vorhees, OL, USC
Position versatility will help earn him a role early on with the goal of competing at guard in 2024, though he seems to be ranked higher by other draft sites.

PFF draft, reasonable trade-downs.

17. Christian Gonzalez CB Oregon
32. Siaki Ika NT Baylor
49. Jack Campbell LB Iowa
80. Rashee Rice WR SMU
136. Jaelyn Duncan OT Maryland
185. Ricky Stromberg C Arkansas
193. Luke Schoonmaker TE Michigan

2024 7th round pick Carolina

Really good, physical CB, massive NT, very good ILB, and talented WR with great hands. Duncan is not a top-50 guy in PFF ratings so traded down and got a big, athletic future LT. Stromberg good-not-great but backs up C, takes Green's place really. Schoonmaker because worried about Freiermuth's concussions.

What will it take to get an A grade in the PFF mock?
For ***** and giggles, i forced traded a bunch of garbage for the top 5 draft picks and still only got a C+ grade…

Edit: And just now, I had a draft where had the first ten picks, and 41 total picks… i took bpa except after two qbs i didn’t take any more of those… again 41 picks.. 16 of which were first rounders…and only four were lower than pick 100… i force traded all of our pure garbage for them… AND MOSTLY TOOK BPA… got multiple qbs. Wrs, Tes, RBs, OTs OGs C’s, DL, LB’s EDGE’s, S’s and CB’s…
Received a B- for a grade..

PFF stands for Positively ****** Football for sure lol

PFF Mock Draft and I received the first "A" ever awarded. Well, A- but what the hell:

21. Anton Harrison OT Oklahoma
32. O'Cyrus Torrance G Florida
49. Mazi Smith DT Michigan
80. Tyrique Stevenson CB Miami
85. Dawand Jones OT Ohio State
127. Owan Pappoe LB Auburn
193. Luke Schoonmaker TE Michigan

SD 4th round pick 2024
JAX 5th round pick 2024

No WR help but a new offensive line. Three very large human beings, Harrison an NFL-caliber LT, Jones a massive RT, and Torrance the best G in the draft. Smith a huge run stuffer. Stevenson has the tools but needs to avoid being grabby.

The more I watch Pappoe, the more I think he is what the Steelers hoped Devin Bush would be but did not turn into. Incredibly fast, REALLY good in coverage in the middle of the field, willing to take on offensive lineman and blow up running plays. He is not a big guy (6'1", 225 lbs. listed so we'll see what he really is at the combine) but a willing tackler.

And he can be drafted in the 4th round, not as a top-10 pick that cost a 1st and 3rd.

Now that is the way to stock the trenches mister!

PFF again, fewer trade opportunities.

17. Broderick Jones OT Georgia
32. Joey Porter, Jr. CB Penn State
49. Mike Morris DE Michigan
80. Rashee Rice WR SMU
142. Jaelyn Duncan OT Maryland
182. Josh Whyle TE Cincinnati

LV 6th round pick 2024 draft
IND 6th round pick 2024 draft

Jones is a plug-and-play LT, Porter same at CB. Morris is listed as an "Edge" but is massive and a perfect fit as a 3-4 DE. Rice is a great value at 80. Good size, excellent route runner, very good hands, catches contested passes. Duncan is a very good LT prospect, is going to be better than Okorafor right away. Very big, looong arms, great balance. He starts at RT and if something happens at LT, he can move over there and handle the duties. Great value at 142. Whyle is a project but need some depth behind Freiermuth. The two 6th round picks give the team more draft capital in 2024. This draft shows how having that type of extra picks means a lot. Yeah, I get it, not pick 32 but having 3 6th rounders means the team can deal extra picks to move up in the 4th or 5th.
