PFF once again, site thinks the draft is a B+.

27. Cam Smith CB South Carolina
32. Siaki Ika DT Baylor
53. Cooper Beebe G Kansas State
59. Jaylin Hyatt WR Tennessee
92. Noah Sewell LB Oregon
120. Sedrick Van Pran C Georgia
136. Jaelyn Duncan OT Maryland

2024 4th round pick Cincinnati
2024 4th round pick Chicago

Unfolded not the way I had hoped. Looking to get Freeland with 3rd round pick, he goes at 79, so traded down and targeted Duncan. Get both Sewell and Duncan so there's that. Smith is the best of the "second tier." Good coverage, solid in man, very good in zone as he covers receivers rather than grass. Ika a monster who will stuff running games. Beebe and Duncan are going to be really good. Beebe is a starter early on at LG. Hyatt big, fast, very good hands. Hyatt, Pickens and Freiermuth are going to be a nightmare to defend. Van Pran mainly because I like the name. Also nab two 4th round picks 2024, giving team draft capital to move up if necessary.

17. Broderick Jones, T, Georgia
32. Siaki Ika, DT, Baylor
49. John Michael Schmitz, C, Minnesota
80. Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon
120. Byron Young, DT, Bama
193. Gervarrious Owens, S, FuckCoolie
233. Michael Wilson, WR, Stanford

I would have no problem taking Cam at 17. Love his instincts. I think he will turn into a solid pro.High floor. One of the safer prospects. Wouldn't be 1 or even 2 on my board, but wouldn't lose any sleep if he was selected.

was so happy with this draft I thought I would finish it off with a good game of bumper pool.

What?

we are allowed to waste 7th rounders. See that QB from the last draft.

What a wasted pick. Some of us called for the Steelers to use the selection on CB Jaylen Watson, selected by Kansas City 2 picks later.

Watson is starting for KC, had 49 tackles, 6 passes defensed, an interception and scored 1 more TD than Diontae Johnson in 2022.

Different approach here. PFF draft, gives me an A. They have Witherspoon as a top-10 player, Gonzalez gone, so choice was easy. Mauch an FCS stud, Freeland a solid floor as an OT. Campbell makes ILB a strength. Rice would be a superb #2 WR. Pickens a productive 3-4 DE candidate, behind Leal and Loudermilk at this point. Schoonmaker since Gentry a FA and the dude is a solid TE. Thomas because I had to pick a guy.

17. Devon Witherspoon CB Illinois
46. Cody Mauch OT ND State
49. Jack Campbell LB Iowa
76. Rashee Rice WR SMU
80. Blake Freeland OT BYU
120. Zach Pickens DT South Carolina
193. Luke Schoonmaker TE Michigan
233. Drake Thomas LB NC State

You went overboard on CB but who can argue with that value.

he'll be along shortly, as soon as he locates prime real estate to park his luxury automobile

Four likely starters/big-time contributors in the first four picks. Not one but two lockdown CB's. Add Gonzalez and Smith to Pierre and Wallace, re-signing Cam is a luxury. Beebe is a superb LG. He moves well enough to play LT for KState. Freeland a solid LT, but needs some work. He is mobile and pretty good in run blocking but struggles with speed rush. He is a skinnier, pale Dan Moore.

Latu is a born pass rusher. First game action in a couple years in 2022 and produced. Definitely big enough to play OLB.

Even in that scenario I would resign Cam. It takes time to get those corners up to snuff. Plus you can really never have enough good corners.

NFL Draft Lounge simulator, the one with the ridiculously bad trade offers. I changed the setting to "free for all" for trades. Yeah, of course I get an offer that would never, in a million years, be made in real life without a lot of front office people getting fired.

  • Ringo, Mazi, and Campbell make this one of the best defenses in the NFL. Harrison a legit NFL LT. Hampton an FCS edge rusher. Hey, worked with Highsmith, right? Rush - hope some Cam Smith rubbed off on him.
  • Oh, and the Titans 1st and 2nd round picks in 2024.
