No losing seasons

through him and a whole scout team I guess, he ultimately signs off on them but there must be a lot of people involved. Also he inherited Ben and that's a HoF QB that few coaches get. He has had one through all his tenure as HC.

Regarding the players drafted, half of them have sucked through tomlin and I can't blame him alone either but he definitely is responsible for them after they got drafted. Which player has really overachieved his abilities with Tomlin? Jesse James maybe, Foster, Villanueva (these two I will credit a lot more Munchak)? can't think of one on defense aside from Vince Williams who is not close to be a star either. Shazier was the one that was a home run on that side of the ball.

All great coaches are linked to their HOF QBs. ALL OF THEM.

This feels a lot like the arguments we had against Cowher, right before he won it in 2005. I'd love to see a similar run by this team this year.

half of that is on Ben (or more), without him this offense wouldn't click and we all know it

Half? Probably, not quite that much. It is the OL that keeps Ben clean enough to succeed, which leads us back to.....that OL didnt get here by accident. AB would be just as good anywhere else. Probably, juju, too.

Hell, a rookie RB just put up 130 yards of offense.

Yeah because the Oline in 2008 was great, that Oline was garbage. The running game without Connor has been non existent up until this game. AB wouldn't be just as good anywhere else.
He averaged like 4 catches a game for 47 yards when Ben doesn't play. AB would have an emotional break down not getting the ball.
Ben threw for 300+ at Denver in the playoffs without Bell and AB, the same Denver defense that totally shut Brady down the following week.
I'd say over half of it's Ben.

That's a neat point Coryea. Tomlin coached his team to a superbowl with the worst offensive line to ever win a superbowl. That's a big feather in his cap!

The fact that Ben is the hardest QB to bring down and that we had one of the best defenses in the nfl are the only reasons we made it to a SB in 08. Had squat to do with great coaching.

Wtf does 2008 have to do with the price of tea in china? Are you trying to argue that Ben, after having played 10 years, doesn't play better because the current OL keeps him off his back? I dont know how you get there. Good luck with it, though.

Your time mighy be better spent arguing with those who say keeping the ball in bens hands too much is why we were losing.

It took a rookie 3 games starting to do that? You have GOT to he ******** me.

This same site tried to tell me the same **** about Sanders as you are saying about AB.

As for Ben throwing for 300 yards, he also gave the jags 10-14 points in game 2 last year. He has up and down games. We accept it because of what he can do at other times.

Absorootry. We. LOST the SB because bad coaching though, right?

Sorry, wrong year. Coaching didnt get us to the 2010 SB, either.

So, you think Ben would be playing as close to as well with getting sacked as much as he used to? That is your argument? Really. His body could continue to take that punishment?

You think juju or ab wouldn't be as good elsewhere? Did you think the same about Sanders?

Yes, because in your world a coach is not responsible for ANYTHING on his team. What a paradigm to have in life.

Did I say that. Nope.

I'm just asking you a question and you want to spout hyperbole?

If he had nothing to do with getting them there, then why would he have anything to do with them losing. Seems a reasonable question, no? I guess, not in your mind.

Ben is and has been this team since he got here. What happened to all those other superstar receivers when they left here. They turned to **** that's what — anyone who thinks that Ben isn't responsible for most of the success this team has had since he has been here needs to get off the dope. If it wasn't for Ben, we don't even sniff the super bowl in 06. Look at his stats in the playoffs, and the fact he saved the game when Bettis fumbled on the goal line, yes he had a terrible Superbowl but if wasn't for him we never even get there, and if it wasn't for Ben on that last drive in 08 Tomlin is 0-2 in super bowls. **** Holmes that last drive was all Ben and if had been any other QB in the ******* league they would have been MVP.

Why would I bother saying anything more than hyperbole to you, everything that ANYONE says that goes against Tomlin you instantly reject, so what's the point. You don't hold the coach responsible for anything. We get it, his expertise has been on full display for the last 10 years.

He gave up 7 really, maybe that great Oline shouldve blocked the defender better and he wouldn't have gotten strip sacked. Just because he threw a pick doesn't mean the defense has to allow them to score.
Let's say he gave up 10, he still torched them for what 400 yards passing and like 5 TDs and we scored 42 points on the best defense in the league, yeah what a bum.

That's not just for Ben, it goes for all top tier QBs, their teams success is due in large part to having a QB of that caliber.

Ben has the fastest release in the NFL this season, does that not help his Oline?

More hyperbole. Good work.

Yeah, the guy that said;

No one is saying Tomlin is a great coach (Well, some might be). I think he is closer to great than he is to average (i.e. a good coach, overall). Just as importantly, I don't know who we could get that is "better".

That doesn't mean I don't think he has issues or that he is better than the precious Cowher, though.

I really jumped down his throat didn't I?

Wow, hit a nerve huh? 10 points. The int was within FG range, IIRC. so, a great OL NEVER gives up a sack? Sometimes it happens. He was sacked something like 20 times last year? About that, this year? When Tomlin took over , it was 40-45 +. So Yeah, this OL IS head and shoulders above 10 years ago. Just because he was sacked doesn't mean he has to fumble. Right?

Maybe coaching helped him with the release and getting the ball out faster!

I would say that my assessment is spot on, so hyperbole might be more up your alley when you make asinine statements about not getting a coach that is better...lol.

SO again, coaches get all of the credit but none of the blame...and you talk about other people and their hyperbole...riiight.

I think the coaching helped him win a Superbowl with the worst offensive line to ever do so?

I'm with Ark. Tomlin isn't perfect, but he's far from terrible, and I consider him a great coach. Being only 2 wins behind Shula for his first 11 seasons gives me the ability to think that.

Great coaches don't have 3 playoff wins in 8 years with a HOF QB and a #1 defense for half of that time period.

Holmes made a fantastic catch with his feet in bounds to save the game. I'd have have given the mvp to Ben, too.

What other "super star" receivers? Maybe Wallace and Sanders? 50/50 split there.

I apologize to all that I implied that in some imaginary wonder land that has never existed that out of all the possible possibilities, it just might be remotely possible that Ben is not solely and completely responsible for 50%+ of the TEAMS success. The OL, RB WR have practically no effect on the success of the offense. We can just bring in anyone and produce the same results.

You have a hyperbole generator working overtime? Point me to where I said this. AND overlook the **** I highlighted for you.

I don't know who we could get that is better is the same as no one is better? Again. BS hyperbole

You mean the same Manny Sanders that was catching passes from one Peyton Manning for a couple seasons??

Holy **** Ark, I'm disappointed you're such a sucker for the pro-Tomlin argument.

SO again, coaches get all of the credit but none of the blame...and you talk about other people and their hyperbole...riiight.

You disagree that the current OL IS better than the one in 2008? That is a simple yes or no question, right?
