A new Quinnipiac University Poll named Obama the worst president since World War II

Ronald Reagan topped the poll as the best president since World War II, with 35%. He is followed by presidents Bill Clinton (18%) and John F. Kennedy (15%).

Obama received only 8% in the best presidents poll.

The Quinnipiac poll also reports that 45% believe the nation would be better off had Mitt Romney defeated Obama in the 2012 presidential election

(CNN) - President Barack Obama tops the list of the worst presidents since World War Two, according to a new national poll.

By a 54%-44% margin, the survey indicates that the Obama administration is not competent in running the government.

The poll's Wednesday release comes as the scandal rocking the Department of Veterans Affairs dominated headlines recently. It's the latest controversy of the past year, following the NSA snooping scandal, the controversy over the IRS targeting of some conservative non-profit groups, and the rough rollout of the new federal health care law.

The President has also faced numerous international challenges, including the new bloodshed in Iraq, the civil war in Syria, and the fighting in Ukraine, as well as the controversial swapping of five Taliban prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay for the release of a U.S. soldier held captive in Afghanistan.

"This poll gives a window into the sentiment of Americans at the moment," said CNN Chief National Correspondent John King,

The primary knowledge gleaned from this is not easy to see for Joe six pack, i.e. Americans have almost zero understanding of history(even their own) and those few that think they do depend on 'pop' history fed to them through the T.V. news media and the History Channel.

How am I glorifying democrats? The policies Carter initiated and Reagan ran with were/are horrible for the country. There were short term gains and economic improvement from deregulation especially in the oil, natural gas, and electricity sectors, anti-union policies etc. but now we are paying the price for those policies.

I was merely pointing out the delusion the public exists with caused by the media and other factors.

In other words some of the things conservatives love Reagan for were actually things Carter initiated.

Some of the things liberals hate Reagan for were those same things Carter initiated.

I wasn't speaking of partisan beliefs in reference to the poll, just the average American's ignorance of history.

I have to agree with this guy... Neither the President nor the Congress has the best interests of the average American at heart. Both parties cater to the wants of the large corporations and wealthy individuals because that's where the money comes from ...with no regard for how doing so affects the average person. But if we're picking worst presidents it begins and ends with ol' W. The Iraq war was by far the biggest **** up since Johnson escalated the war in Vietnam. Let's also not forget the worst attack on American soil happened on his watch. And, last but not least, the economy imploded, causing us to have to give the Wall St. ***** that caused the implosion in the first place almost a trillion dollars to keep us from sliding into the second Great Depression.
