Back to the original question Rudolph has little to no trade value in the NFL. He is regarded as a mediocre backup and not near starting ability. A conditional 7th is probably his zenith on a trade. Better QBs are available for free and in trade.
that is what you think. I would say he is an important part of our team until someone offers a 3rd or 4thBack to the original question Rudolph has little to no trade value in the NFL. There is zero proof that Rudolph is worth even a 7th rounder. No team will give up a 3rd or 4th rounder for the POS keep dreaming. He holds little value to the Steelers, if he plays our season is over.that is what you think. I would say he is an important part of our team until someone offers a 3rd or 4th
So does POS mean player of “substance”?There is zero proof that Rudolph is worth even a 7th rounder. No team will give up a 3rd or 4th rounder for the POS keep dreaming. He holds little value to the Steelers, if he plays our season is over.
That seems fairI'd trade Rudolph only if it brings a starting LT this very season, it doesn't have to be a probowler or something with that pedigree, but a definitive starter in the league.
No 3rd or 4th? then just keep him as a back up. again he adds value in that roll. to trade him for less would be ztupidThere is zero proof that Rudolph is worth even a 7th rounder. The other thing, this is the last year on his contract so it would be better to try to get something instead of letting him walk after the season and getting nothing. No 3rd or 4th? then just keep him as a back up. again he adds value in that roll. to trade him for less would be ztupid
True but to both points, they can hold onto him until the deadline and see if his value spikesThe other thing, this is the last year on his contract so it would be better to try to get something instead of letting him walk after the season and getting nothing.
yep. Not to wish injury on anyone but if a starting QB goes down before the deadline or even a solid back up, that would increase MR valueTrue but to both points, they can hold onto him until the deadline and see if his value spikes
I guess it depends on the size of contract he signs. and who we sign of courseThe other thing, this is the last year on his contract so it would be better to try to get something instead of letting him walk after the season and getting nothing.
Don't know if he is juiced. So does POS mean player of “substance”?
I would not trade him for anything less than a 3rd or 4th. If a team doesnt answer that then just keep him as our 3rd QBFor what its worth, the insiders are all saying he is getting trade interest from around the league now…
They really wanted to dump Darnold anyhow… would be weird if they gave up a third or fourth for Mason after giving up a fifth for Baker but utterly hilarious….Sam Darnold carted off for Carolina and they already lost Matt Corrall for the season. They may be in the market.
Around the NFL or just that one writer? I don't see Rudy as anything more than a backup but one man's writing doesn't mean he is viewed that way around the NFL.More evidence about how little Randolph is viewed around NFL.

16) Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers
First-round pick Kenny Pickett entered OTAs as the No. 3 QB in Pittsburgh. While his status in the pecking order will eventually change, Rudolph is the likeliest candidate for the No. 2 job in Week 1 behind Mitch Trubisky. Rudolph did a solid job filling in for Ben Roethlisberger over the past three years but is still probably the third-most talented QB on his roster. That said, he’s probably better than the assortment backups on the second half of this list.
11 Mason Rudolph, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rudolph has not wowed, by any means, in his first two seasons as a pro after being drafted in the third round in 2018. He doesn’t have much mobility and often has trouble scrambling out of the pocket and throwing on the run. But, he cracks this list because when it comes to backup talent, many teams in the league would be more than content with Rudolph as their saving grace.
By the numbers, Rudolph has performed as well as a backup would be expected to in the absence of Ben Roethlisberger. In 15 career appearances in the regular season, Rudolph has 62% completion percentage, almost 2,100 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Not great, not horrible. He should have a home as a backup quarterback for some time in this league.
