Patriots release Antonio Brown

So.........AB looses pretty much everything. Raiders loose 2 draft picks and have to scramble to find a WR. Cheats cut a player and cant get him back, and have to deal with drama for a week. The NFL starts the season with more controversy at a time when many fans are ready to give up on them. Bills are wiping their brow with a sigh of relief. Steelers get 2 draft picks and get rid of a locker room cancer. Did I miss anything?
Hopefully Drew Rosenpenis will try to salvage his agency career and will fire bABy immediately, in a way that will send a message to others players that this sort of **** is not ok.

we gave up to much for Bush...

Remains to be seen. I think he'll rise to the value of the trade. Possibly exceed it. In that draft range he needs to become a Pro-bowler to be seen as a success. It's doable. In terms of what we gave up... roughly 1520 points in value against the 1300 which is the value of #10. So, depending on our 2020 3rd round position, we gave up around 200 points in total point value, or the value of a mid 3rd rounder. Nothing for the player you want that you wouldn't otherwise touch. And we'll get a 3rd for Lev in 2020. So did we really 'give up too much'?

...shouldn't have given up a #1 for Fitzpatrick...

First, they wouldn't have gotten Fitz for anything less. You either do it or you don't. Second, there isn't anything in next years projected top 15 that measures up to what Fitz is today, and certainly what he might become. So you get the utility of what he does this year and next vs. speculation... and you have him on his rookie contract for 4 years. Total no-brainer. The kid is top shelf - the real deal. He's quality in every way one can be called 'quality'. He'll raise the games of the kids around him. Can the value of that be measured in terms of draft capital?

Pro-bowlers aren't what they once were. Almost nobody goes so you'll might have the first 2 guys not be there but they have to pick someone.

PIT owes him around 20 million in dead money, so he hosed us too.

The good news is I think he's done being a player of any importance in this league, but we all know he'll play again, he's broke. Thankfully it will be for some ****** desperate team on a small short term contact where he'll inplode

actually, the money has already been paid. The dead money is accounting against what is left of his signing bonus and any unpaid guarantees owed when he was traded. Those guarantees are paid upon his departure. In short, the only money he has is what he has already been paid and not spent. He has no new revenue coming in the door. He is ******.
