I was a bit annoyed with the Pens broadcast tonight as Errey and Caufield were both kind of giddy of all the fighting and extracurricular junk. I honestly don't find that **** entertaining anymore. It's stupid, slows the game down to a crawl, and worse, gets key players injured. I want to watch skating, shooting, goals and saves, not a bunch of grown men unable to control their emotions as they run around like a bunch buffoons. And, of course, **** the Flyers. What is it now, 40 years without winning ****? The drought's going to continue for quite some time.
Yep Flyers are a train wreck.
Hope we tank it for 5-6 straight years like the Pens did to get the #1 - #5 overall picks each year.

I don't understand it, either. I don't what pisses me off more, all the fighting or the Pens can't get them out of their heads. They dominated in shots 17-3 at the end of the first period, were down 1-0. How does that happen? Emery is not much better than Griess, but you'd think Patrick Roy was in net.
btw, tanking doesn't always work. Look at the Oilers. How many #1s and top picks did they have and they are trading them off. They are still at the bottom of the entire league.
I thought the Voracek fight with Scuderi was the epitome of shameful behavior. Scuds laid an absolute beautiful, and legal, check on Voracek. Absolutely shameful.

C'mon guys. The Flyers suck and for whatever reason, the Pens have a hard time playing a physical style with them. It's their only shot at winning and it's proven to be effective. Should they play your style and get blown out of the building?

If you would have pumped in 2 or 3 goals on the uninterrupted 5 minute power-play, that would have shown the Flyers who was boss. You didn't and the Flyers continued to badger. It works.
Plus, the penalties in OT...gotta be smart.

Absolute goon fest. I don't know how any serious hockey fan can call themselves a fan of that team. Back in the day when everyone played that way, for better or worse, I'd have said "yeah, tough team, way to play." But they are seriously the only ******* team left in the league that plays that way because THE RULES HAVE CHANGED.......and figures if they can't win they'll just go berserk and intentionally injure people. Bettman really needs to deal with their bullshit.

Now the Penguins.......you are correct in that the only way to counter the aberrant behavior of the flyers is to make them pay with pp goals and for whatever reason they failed at that (and let's be fair Emery got very lucky last night) and having a pp that was incredible early this year degrade to its current state is unacceptable, injuries notwithstanding. The Pens are a mentally weak team, I've said that since they lost their ******* minds at the flyers hands a few years ago........that hasn't changed. There is not and has not been a locker room leader since Gary Roberts. Much as I like Sid, Geno, etc. I've suggested before that if they can't step up and be that guy maybe the C and the A should be redistributed.......the only thing I saw or heard last night that I liked is the berube had the balls to bench some high profile guys for extended periods...(granted, easier to do when you're perennially out of the po's) but this Pens team needs mental toughening big time and no one should be untouchable,imo.
I was joking, you guys are typically so high-strung with your panties in a bunch...a little prodding seemed like a good idea.

The Flyers have missed the playoffs exactly 2x since 1994....not counting the lockout year.

it's funny Asham and Downie are brought up. Former Flyer players, huh? No coincidence whatsoever, I guess. Neal was dealt, Cooke was not re-signed. While many teams have had cheap shot artists and play above the line, Pens certainly included, how many Flyers were injured last night? If the Flyers didn't have a history of gooning it up, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that in was done "in the heat of the moment", but we know that is not the case. They know what throws the Pens off and they do it as well as any team out there. What makes it worse is Ronaldo took pride in injuring Letang. A player with a history with concussions.
Nobody would ever expect goonery from a Berube coached team. Rinaldo is Berube Jr.
