Penguins *******!

NHL offers Zac Rinaldo in-person hearing

Zac Rinaldo has been offered an in-person hearing after boarding Kris Letang during Tuesday's contest.

The fact that the league has given Rinaldo the option of an in-person hearing means that he's eligible to receive a suspension of six games or more

The #Pens have recalled Pouliot from the @WBSPenguins. Farnham has been re-assigned to WBS

Another OT loss. The all star break is coming at the perfect time.

another point

they all add up

If there is such a thing as a satisfactory loss, last night was one of them. Came back from a 0-2 deficit, against a top tier team, without 4 key players.
We still looked out of sync though.

It was a shootout loss. I can deal with that. It's a point. I'm still seething over those orange ***** though.

Don't be mad.
Watch your Stanley Cup blu-ray while I contemplate the next 40 years without a cup.

I'd prefer to focus on them winning another cup while they have the nucleus to do so.

Malkin to miss All-Star Game and "won't be ready to play right after the break"

Penguins center Evgeni Malkin will not travel to Columbus for this weekend's NHL All-Star Game, general manager Jim Rutherford confirmed by phone Thursday morning.

Further, the lower-body injury preventing Malkin from participating may cause him to miss more than the next four days.

“With ‘Geno,' he won't be ready to play right after the break,” Rutherford told the Tribune-Review. “It's probably an injury that will take a little time to heal.”

And in that time the Flyers are 3-2 vs the Pens heads-up.

That's it? With the way Flyer fans carry on, you'd swear they won all 5 series in blow out fashion. I'll gladly take 2 series wins out of 5, especially when one of them lead to a Cup victory.

Well then you can sleep well.
The Pens have been clearly better than they Flyers for a decade.
The fact they've won any is a miracle.

Is this the Flyers fault too?

That was a clean hit.
No suspension needed.

You are right. He didn't leave his feet. An angel came down from Heaven and lifted him up at the last moment.

[h=3]llegal checking[/h]Charging, hitting from behind and boarding are examples of illegal hits. Charging occurs when a player takes three or more strides going into the check, and sometimes includes leaving the feet to deliver the hit. Boarding is when a check violently throws a defenseless player into the boards.[SUP][1][/SUP] Due to their dangerous nature and increased likelihood of causing serious injury, these hits can have penalties ranging from a minor two-minute penalty to a major and game misconduct, along with a $100 fine in the NHL.[SUP][1][/SUP] Many studies have been done regarding injuries in hockey that have caused stricter rule enforcement in the past few years.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP] There have been increases in number of concussions and other serious injuries that brought about these changes.

I had a couple different responses I tried to post yesterday but the site is really ******* me around so I can't quote, but Stillers your passive aggressive trolling is really ******* irritating. You know it's trolling when fans of other football teams don't show up until after their chosen team beats the Steelers and it isn't looked upon favorably. And it's exactly passive aggressive when you talk **** about the Pens and then say like how elite they are......

The fact is no other team currently does the amount of egregious **** the flyers are still famous for. I'm sure you get all puffy when you hear things like "Broad Street Bullies" or other nods to the criminal style of hockey that is a relic of the 70's but the game has changed, the rules have changed. One team cannot continue to play that style of hockey when everyone else in the league expects it to be another way.....that is how people get injured.

Have the Pens had cheap shot guys? Yep. Has every other team? Yep. Has any team in the past 5 years or so been as flagrantly guilty of still playing the mental midget as the flyers? Nope. Seriously, who the **** bites people? Steals pucks from big games?

The link below lists the ten "dirtiest" sports teams.......three hockey teams are listed, the Av's and the flyers twice (70's and 2000's).

Pretty illustrative of the nonsense you either believe or pretend to believe is your comment "clean hit" regarding rinaldo. Do you expect anyone to take you seriously after that? Given his history I expect an 8 game suspension.......

Screw it neither of us will convince the other to our viewpoint so I'm done debating this........just don't be a troll.

I actually was pretty happy with the effort in the loss to Chicago the other night. Given the lineup the Pens put out there and the come back I'll take it. I was a little disappointed with everyone's effort (Fleury included) in the SO but with the exception of one brief flurry in the first period the Pens played very solid basic hockey. They were aggressive, won puck battles, finished checks, passed well and shot the puck. If they can continue to get back to getting the basics down and correct it's going to be very helpful.

My God. I am obviously trolling...
and its so obvious it's tongue-in-cheek.

Calling Rinaldos hit "Clean" is laughable.

I've been here long enough for you guys to know that by now.
I don't think there are more thin-skinned fans anywhere.

It's a joke.

Relax

Get a cream soda.

And by the way...I do employ a passive aggressive methodology at times...but I am being sincere whrn I call the Pens elite. They are what I wish the flyers were...except with a little more fortitude.

#Pens forward Sidney Crosby will miss the 2015 NHL All-Star Game due to a lower-body injury.

Take a rest Sid

What did he do? Stub his toe? Another All Star Game without the supposed best player in the world. Shocker.

don't be bitter, be happy

anything can happen, maybe NOT being the top seed will be the magic lotion we need this time around

you never know

Nah, not bitter. Just getting tired of the prima donna antics.

I just think that at this point in his career, Sid doesn't need to showcase his talents in a dumbass all star game. Rather, he'd sit it out, and save some tread on the tires. The lower body claim is just an excuse.

Ok, Stillers, my bad......apologies.

As for the All Star farce, I'm surprised all players don't use it as a "rest" period. Really, what's the friggin point?

Sorry. My bad.

You were sounding a lot like your typical neanderthal, lame brain Philadelphia sports fan, so I made an errant assumption.

Honestly, how can you say that?

If a Penguin takes a cheap shot and gets suspended, I will admit he deserves it. But with Rinaldo's past and his intent during the hit and his bragging about injuring someone after the game how can you honestly say that?
