Leafs in return for Winnik get Zach Sill plus 2nd round pick in 2016 and 4th round pick in 2015

I find it hard to believe anybody wanted Sill

Yeah Sill was kind of a very poor man's Adams, imo. And I like Adams, know your pretty luke warm on him but I like his consistent effort and drive and the fact that he's comfortable with the team and the team's comfortable with him......is what he is a low line forward body.

Winnik's a big guy...hope he's in the lineup tonight.

Adams, statistically, is one of the worse players in the NHL. He had some value 5 years ago before he lost a step, but he is a slow player who has zero offensive skills and frankly his defensive skills are less than great these days. He clogs up passing lanes but always loses puck battles... Listening to guys like Steigy make stupidstatements about how great he is on the Pk does not jibe with his actual play. he would be, and has been, cut or healthy scratched from many a team because he is relatively average at PKing.
the lovefest Pens fans have for that goober is mystifying. he isn't even in the top 15 forwards on the roster now.

He better be getting scratched a lot now that we have Winnik, who actually is a near star at PKing.

Sill was tough but that was it. he throws better hits than Adams but is pretty much meaningless overall. He literally was a cap clearing throw in to that deal and they had to add to get them to take him and retain salary

I don't care, do something, most times hockey draft picks aren't worth a spit in a bucket anyway, mostly

Sid and Malkin aren't getting younger, they need to win NOW

any chance of improving the team is a better chance than doing nothing....that's what I say...go for it

Big win tonight in WASH. We played smart, for the most part, didn't panic when the Craps would score to get closer. The boys responded nicely. Very good win. Need some tightening up on the D, but with Scuds going down, the D held their own. The shorty was sweet!
I swear, Ovechkin must shoot the puck 40 times a game. No wonder he scores so much. Dude is a puck hog. MAF stood his ground and played a really good game again. We needed those two points and the confidence beating them. Huge!

I was terribly disappointed in the PP the Pens gave up to make it 4-3. Fleury just let it get through him. That said, after the faceoff, it seemed like no one moved. Win the draw, pass, shoot score. That quick. I was like wow.

That said, hell of a game. They needed that one. The Caps have been in their heads this year. To pull that one out on the road is huge. Looking forward to seeing what Winnik brings to the team.

Sid needs to be more like that

They played well, but every time they get a two goal lead they get cocky and sloppy on D....that **** has got to stop

3 minutes to go and they are rushing up the ice for no reason

Don't want Sid to be anything like Ovechkin. Dude doesn't even skate or play both ways. Other than take advantage of someone who doesn't keep their head on a swivel all he does is post up on the left wing and shoot, skate away and celebrate by himself.....I despise the great ape.

Sid definitely needs to shoot more, and pass less. His goal last night was evidence of that. We also need a net front presence to clean up the rebounds.

I saw a Penguins team last night that was focused and determined. Sure, there were a couple of lapses, but it showed the potential. Winnik is a good pickup, and is going to improve our 3rd line.

Good to see them win. Loved the way they took it to them the first period. Wish they could play like that all the time. Looking forward to seeing Winnik playing.

When the Caps were on the PP and goalie pulled, Ovechkin was stationary at the point to get the puck for a one-timer. He doesn't pass. I heard a stat he took 13 shots and 5 was not registered. When he is not shooting the puck, he's taking runs at players. I was impressed with Sid and Malkin last night. They played hard and smart. They were discipline and stayed after their game.

I agree that there were times they got sloppy, but they didn't fold on the road against a strong Caps team. You could feel the momentum tilting to the bad guys side, but they stayed focused for the last 5 minutes. Winnik will be interesting on what line he fits. He's really good on the penalty kill, but not sure if he's a top 6. If Rutherford can get the Dman he covets, they should be ready to go.

That's ovechkin in a nutshell. As for Winnik, imo he's pure 3rd line......maybe 4th. No way I see him cracking 2......unless he really comes on here like Comeau did.

If I was coach I'd put Beau in the top 2 lines and move Kunitz down. Did you see him whiff on that wide open net? No wonder Sid needs help.

SOB - talk about cheap

Jaromir Jagr heads to Florida for draft picks in trade stunner

Jaromir Jagr is about to get a suntan. The New Jersey Devils winger, who had done everything but demand a trade recently, is on his way to … the Florida Panthers!
Did anyone see that one coming?

And Florida doesn’t have to give up a player off its roster. The Panthers, who are now clearly gunning for the Bruins and the playoffs, gave up a second round pick in 2015 and a Devils option of Florida’s or third or Minnesota’s third rounder in 2016.

Yeah, saw that. Then I saw him score. Bennett's playing well but just recently out of coach's doghouse . If he keeps working hard good on him I see eventual big things out of him.

Little break with Pens games... so the WILD have pleasantly caught fire since the All Star break. The beat Nashville handily last night on the road no less and it was the fourth line doing most of the damage.

Back in the Wild Card discussions after looking up at it from many points back.

Malkin pounding the cheap suits 4-1

Crosby looks so uninterested and afraid on the ice
