Penguins *******!

I'm just wondering if throwing Bennett back in screwed with the chemistry already established. Nothing seemed to work last night. Let's see how Professor Johnston adjusts things.

Shouldn't be any major reaction or changes imo, just a crappy game for which they due. The thing that bothered me most about this game is its potential "in their headedness" (specially for MAF) that could result and return late this year to bite their butts. Like I said their streak had to end sometime and they were due for a ****** game. Just wish it had been elsewhere.

Yeah, plus it was game 4 of a 5 game road stretch. I certainly didn't think they would win them all. Let's hope for the bounce back tonight. Though now the story is that they are putting Dupuis back on the top line. We'll see what happens, seems they're trying to get Malkin going.

I was forced to watch the MSG feed, and midway through the game the NY announcers kept talking about the possibility of the Rangers facing the Pens in the playoffs, as if it was a foregone conclusion that the Rangers had already clinched a spot. I spent ten minutes yelling at the TV, "FOURTEEN GAMES! YOUR TEAM HAS PLAYED FOURTEEN GAMES. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER THEY WILL BE IN THE PLAYOFFS AT THIS POINT IN THE SEASON!"

Yep. Spalling and Hornqvuist to Geno' s line.

Anybody got a site I can see the game on tonight against Toronto on line? Please PM, much appreciation in advance!

Well, it worked as far as the top line.....not so much with Geno. Talking heads at one point in the 3rd made some reference to Malkin hustling after a puck.....mentioned to Mrs. Farva it was the time he'd hustled all night. Dude looks completely disinterested and lazy far too often for me. I'll give him props for standing up to Faneuf tho.

Quite the finish to the Pens game last night. .....both of them. Great win. There seems to be a nice animosity brewing between these teams. Epic hit by Geno on Girardi. I look forward to their future meetings.

Fleury still gives me a headache. He almost got trapped out of the net again, he lost his stick at least twice, and on one of those it seemed he basically threw the stick at the puck. I don't know why he can't stay in the net... Surely he had been coached, told, yelled at, to stay in there?!?

Epic hit by Geno indeed. Which served to illustrate (again) the absurdity of the officiating in the NHL. Seriously, wtf? The previous night in an identical situation Toronto gets the extra attacker.....fast forward to last night and it's all even up. Total horseshit. Malkin did nothing except level a good hit and then get jumped.

Great game though....credit to the HL for getting it right and to Errey who spotted it right away. Not sure I've ever seen teams called back on to the ice before.

I was steaming all night for this very fact on the Malkin hit. He got jumped, defended himself and gets a penalty, but got the only penalty against TOR for doing the same thing. Ugh!.

Birds make statement in Quebec tonight 4-0. 3rd line may be best in the league.

Solid game from head to toe. I have nothing else to add, but just a complete game against a solid team.

Yep. That may have been the best three periods I've seen this team string together in several years. Didn't hear Subban's name but once which was nice (despite the stick work and mugging on Sid all night that went uncalled).

100% effort the entire 60 minutes from everyone. Both ways. Not sure how many shots the Habs ended with but they only had like 12 midway through the 2nd. Clinical defense and back check. Just a great game.

Duper out for season, for all practical purposes. Blood clot in leg that went to lung.
What's next?

That really sucks, poor guy has had some rotten luck. Forget hockey, hope he's just able to live a full life. Get well, Super Duper!

As for the Pens, really impressed with that last game. They really seem to be buying into what the new staff is selling.

His career might be over. This is the second time for him with this issue. Sad. One of my favorite players on this team. Who do we go after now to fill his spot?

Very sad indeed. Get well Pascal......6 month MINIMUM.....done for the year I'd say. Team seems snake bit with catastrophic medical issues.

As far as replacements go? Great question.....but with Bennett's return, if he can stay healthy it's less a blow than it might have been.....expect a Megna call up?

Think they're okay cap wise since Duper's on LTIR but there aren't a lot of top 6 type wingers out there for sale right now.....and I wouldn't expect any trading before close to the dead line, if at all. There's inexperienced talent available in WBS.....maybe some short term call ups / try outs for a few guys and see if anyone clicks.

Rumor is Pens are after Jordan Eberle, but Edmonton wants Pouliot in return. Not sure I make that deal.

Saw that as well Sarge. And I share your misgivings. Have even heard rumblings of a deal involving Paul Martin (not involving Eberle or anyone in particular for that matter, just people speculating) given the number of young d men waiting in the wings.

Last night's game was tough. Looking at the bright side I figure for the first 1.5 periods it was the Isle's best effort vs. the Pen's worst and pretty even, slight edge to Pens, for the remainder and they still managed tie. Was heart breaking losing a SO to that goalie though. I was certain if they got to the SO it'd be a win.....NY's goalie isn't that sharp.

Chance at revenge tonight.

Wow - how sad

He's 35yrs old, he's still so young to have an issue like this. Hockey is definitely something that takes a back seat when you have a family, he has 4 little ones that need him around.

Anyone have a link for the game on line?

The Pens just seem to get sloppy with the puck for long stretches of games. It started in the second period this game. There seemed to be no set ups, drop ins, shooting down boards, etc. Even rebounds were left out there. Crazy.
