Sullivan keeps trying to run a speed system when this team isn’t even fast.
LOL I got home and turned it on just in time to see him muff the shot in OT....
Maybe they can lose in OT Thursday night and clinch a playoff spot. I know they were missing Rust and Geno but I just don't have much enthusiasm for the playoffs this year. If it weren't for Sid Rust and Jake they wouldn't even be in the hunt for a playoff spot.
And I fully expect teams to take that top line out when the playoffs start. And then what will we have? Nobody else on the other lines can score more than a goal a game combined.
Sounds like Rust and Erod caught the bug.
I wonder what happened to ERod this year, he looked unstoppable there for awhile and then zilch. .

They are gonna overpay Malkin and Letang, clinging to the hope that Sid and those two have another cup run in them. They don't.

They don't. I'm not so sure the current leadership buys into it as much as the previous front office did. Letang will be asking for a pile of money. He's very, very good, not Gretzky good.
The bottom line is that these guys have proven what they are - previous cup winners who can't repeat that greatness again. I would move on from Geno and Letang as the front of the team, and only keep them for less pay, if at all. Sid still changes games. I'm good with hanging on to him.
One thing he is not very good at is shootouts.....I heard them say 1 and 8 before that muff? So With Geno and Rust gone last night, which is arguably the best at shootouts, why didn't they put Rakell in? Heard the announcer say he was 4-0 with Anaheim. Probably the same on BS we have always seen on this team where tenure takes precedent over statistics....
I guarantee Rakell would have done a better job on that penalty shot than Letang did....Even Jake and Sids shots looked like they were purposely trying to hit Sororkins glove...
Dumoulin gets the WTF award though for that assist on what turned out to be the losing goal last night....There is always something they seem to do that costs them a game and makes you shake your head and go WTF.

Nice win and we at least get 4 extra games of Penguins hockey this year. They'd have do some serious magic to win a cup this year. Just getting out of round 1 would be nice.
I hate to rail on the guy but the Pens sure look a lot more focused when Malkin is not on the ice...I hope we get Good Geno when he returns.
