That was a joke...When the whistle blows that's it ..This opens the door to all sorts of BS and if you're a player and hear the whistle blow, when do you stop defending your goal or whacking at the puck?

I normally can't stand listening to TV announcers, especially the opposition announcers so I'll listen to the delayed broadcast of the Pens radio 9 times out of 10. Today I couldn't get my Pens app to work so I listened to Mickey Redmond call the game for the Wings and really enjoyed it..

The guy called it like he saw it. Gave credit to both teams for what they did well and called out the stuff that wasn't so good. Definitely not an over the top homer announcer.

The guy had infinite knowledge of the game, fun stories from the past and a love for the game. Announcers like him are a dying breed I hate to say. Thanks for a great call today Mick.

The Wings broadcast listed the Pens who are unrestricted free agents after this season. It was a pretty impressive list. Malkin, Rust, Letang, DeSmith, Rakell, Rodriguez, Boyle.
