Pens hockey 21-22

Hate to say it---

But that's Patriot like....and its alright with me!
I’m not expecting much in the post season as well and that’s alright with me.

The Crosby era has netted 4 cup appearances 3
Cup teams, 16 straight seasons is an accomplishment. This team was on the verge of moving out of Pittsburgh before Crosby came in. Sid really did save the franchise. I hope fans don’t jump ship when the group retires cause it may be a few seasons of struggle. But FSG does have knack for putting together no name rosters who will pester the opponent.

Well since I don't give a crap about any other teams, it's the Pens or nothing. I will watch whomever is in the Stanley Cup Finals just because I do enjoy them, I just won't have any emotional attachment.

I hear you, MTC. It might be good to thin out the ranks of the fans some anyway, so we'll see.

I have to admit that I was very excited about this team when the stars were out at the beginning of the season. I was very nervous about Geno's return. If we can keep the core of kids we have, we might be something after the monster is gone.

I'll be around after they are gone.

The Pens have lost 9 out of the last 13 games. We need to get some wins starting tonight

Scratch my back with a hacksaw Jake's 2nd makes it 3-0

Yes it was. He has 38 goals. Almost at the 40 club.
39, and we are on the hattie watch!

On a downer note, I really don't want to see Kappy go into the post season. He's just sucking this year.

Ahhh buy Sam a drink and get his dog one too.

Jake gets his 40th to make it 4-0

Ladies and gentlemen,Elvis has just left the building.

Great 52 save shutout Case!!!

These trades happen two years too late.
I’d love to see a Pens team with Rakell, Tanev, Reaves and Hornqvist.

Hopefully the Pens can get some momentum heading into the playoffs. And agreed on Kap. He’s just not fitting in

Hope you heard Phil's play of the game summary which was the events leading up to and the first goal by JG.

Jake got the first star but I would have had to give it to Case...He made the most saves in Pens history during a shutout. Lots to be said for that accomplishment.

Regardless of who got the first star,,,what a great win over a pain in the arse team!!! Cold beer here!!

52-0, record for a penguin goal tender. 0nly 4 players in NHL history have stopped as many shots with a shutout. That's a long history too.

Bravo!

Definitely should have been the #1 star. Pens star giver is a fn idjit.

Thought I would put it in here.
The great Guy Lafleur passed away. One of the true greats of the game. Fortunate enough to watch him live many times during his hey day. Very few players would make you automatically rise as soon as they rushed up the ice. The two Bobby’s,Mario,Wayne,Paval Bure and Guy Lafleur. A special player. Not surprising.....lung cancer. Guy smoked a couple packs a day, used to smoke in the dressing room in between periods. Only 70. RIP Guy.

Quick edit. Should also say....one of the greatest goal scorers,Mike Bossy also passed. Lung cancer as well. A true Gentleman of the times. Great player. RIP Mike.

Well.....playoffs are almost here! After many years in my younger days of watching copious amounts of games,I now watch maybe 5 games during the regular season. It’s just too long, way too many games. 82 games to knock 50% out for the playoffs. To me it’s ridiculous. Hockey in June. They could easily knock off 20 games.

That being said......playoff hockey is the toughest , most exciting, grueling road to a championship in all of sports. Bring it on!
Who’s going to take it all?

Tough to say. Colorado looked pretty good and the Rangers seem to play a good team game.

Any team other than the Caps...

Or the Bs. Hate them.

Carolina or Colorado is my guess. I live in Avs area, so I hope it's Carolina. Unless a miracle on ice happens to the Pens.

If the young guns were contributing, maybe but our senior citizens can't endure that sort of grind. Would be nice to get past the first round.
