Ray Rice plea deal

The Baltimore Ravens are bracing for league discipline against Ray Rice for the running back's simple assault arrest in February.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, via a source with knowledge of the situation, that Rice and his wife were at the league offices on Monday to meet with Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell is expected to hand down a suspension in the near future. Speculation in league circles is that Rice could be banned for four to six games, if not longer.

A lengthy suspension would explain the Ravens' urgency in addressing the position by adding veteran Justin Forsett and fourth-round draft pick Lorenzo Taliaferro.

A noticeably lighter and quicker Rice might have to wait until October to bounce back from last year's disappointing, injury-ravaged campaign.

4-6 games??

Ben's was 6, it needs to be at least 10 games IMO...............

Sorry slash, I think ten games is a bit steep. The racist pushers, would never get over that. I say give him the Ben deal, except no good behavior discount.

If we were to look at the charges or accusation and charges and compare sexual assault to battery or simple assault the criminal penalties are very different for a conviction. I think we are likely to see 2 to 4 games if anything. Now that would imply we are going to use logic and in the NFL I suppose there is a first time for everything.

No good behavior discount? He's marrying that sparring partner, that's got to be good for at least a 2 game discount. Set it at 4 games for Ray.

why? Ray rice got charged, Ben didn't even get charged? I know of his actions leading up to, but none the less, officially, he wasn't charged.
Ray rice was and with video proof of what he did. But that video thing made no difference in the cheatriots thingy. I still say six, if for no other reason than to just match our Lombardy total !!

Set the precedent Roger, you smack down your bride to be you get a ____ game suspension. Just keep it consistent Roger.

Pinning Rog down to a consistent, calculable pattern is akin to locating a single grape in the ocean.

the NFL will push for him to be in the next Madden cover

He will get nothing and we will see him and ray lewis praying on the cover of madden

Nearly another month has passed...another ratbird arrest....still...nothing from Rog the Dodge.

This ray rice is going to get off scott free. Simply amazing what godell does as to NO consistency. Just another reason to add to the less and less interest i'm having in the NFL.

Well we all know a little weed and testosterone pills are soooo much worse them beating up a woman!! Hell, Gordon has been suspended yet officially either

I wish there were more intelligent people in the US because any issue we have could easily be solved. Fans of the NFL don't like the Rog, boycott ONE week and he is fired. No one go to a gane, no one watch a game, no one buy a single NFL item that week and the Führer would be booted instantly. Same goes for politics and for head of companies all it takes is a big kick in the pockets of these big wigs and heads will roll. The problem is too many weak minded people who can't see the big picture so things will never change.

It's still on the table, though I'm not hopeful. As I stated on FB:

"Anything less than a 6 game suspension will show the world the hypocrite that Roger Goodell is. We have an indictment Rog, and it was all caught on video. If Rice's suspension isn't commensurate with past suspensions, I certainly hope the female fans of the NFL rise up in unison to condemn what would then be the NFL's obvious support for violence against women and realize that no amount of pink worn in October would change that."

You could be on to something. A lot of people have the "tunnel Vision" syndrome. Its all about them and unless it directly affects them, they don't care. Weak minded runs long and deep, amongst todays society. All that aside, if the owners are making the ching $$$, godel will always have a job.

The whole problem is this. Roger rewrote the entire player conduct policy based upon the fact that Ben was not charged, but somehow brought dishonor to the league. So he gave him a six game suspension and a two game time off for good behavior. Since then he has not applied that part of the player conduct policy in any way towards players who were actuallly charged. How is the Kapernick case any different. That was my problem with the whole thing when it happened. If the allegation can not even stand up to a charge, what would stop any person who could prove they were alone with Tom Brady say, make that allegation. Two Weeks say before the super bowl. What then?
Roger's complete failure is that he is a knee jerk reactor. He wants whatever problem is on his plate to simply go away for now. Not realizing that there will be ripple effects down the road, when seven months later three packers are charged with Sexual assualt and Darren Sharper was a serial rapist and he did nothing about that.
Same with the Bully case in Miami. Knee jerk media play. The facts weren't even out and he tried the thing in the court of public opinion. Same with bounty gate. Did he even think to listen to Suggs talk about the bounty they had on Ward's head and how that looked.
Funny there is only one glaring thing he didn't rush to judge or allow to go to the court of public opinion. hmm what could that be..............

Not to mention Clay Mathews and a few other Packers were accused of holding a girl or girls against their will in a condo at a golf tournament the year we played them in the Super Bowl. Where was the press for that? Where was Roger's outrage? I'm sure nobody there had sex with her, bought her a drink...........

If only the NFL owners and 37 other people read your Facebook page. Way to lead the charge.....

Says the ******* person who says "she pressed charges"about The DTF girl

Goddamn you talk out of both sides of your mouth

Actually he speaks mostly out of his ***......

the pink is for breast cancer not violence against women.

Saw a women yesterday wearing a pink Rice Shirt. Just shook my head. Politely said to the husband in check out line, you are ok with that shirt? He said, NOPE, she just doesn't understand, "they" support" them all no matter what he said. He was a Redskin fan and said they actually fight over it when he talks about a Raven in a bad light. How do you not understand the dude beat up a woman???? Hell Ben was destroyed in the Pittsburgh media and by our fan base, this ******* guy is being protected and supported more than Ray Lewis was. unreal

On their message boards now, it is no big deal what Ray did. Nobody knows, he is not a bad guy, should only get suspended a few games or Rog is a crook and has it out for Ravens. It is not like he is a Rapist like Ben. Ray is a classy guy who had a bad night or was really helping out a drunk fiance. Now, most of my family and friends are not supporting Rice in anyway and want him gone, but their are some that still only see purple. Big difference from a bathroom BJ and beating a woman, oh and charges/arrests vs NONE

Exactly! As long as the owners are making money they could careless about what the Führer does. You hit them in the wallet and they would take notice of the displeased fans. I would gather 90%+ do not agree with the Führer and want him out but do you think 90% would boycott the NFL for one single week? NO. Maybe 10% would actually do it but that is not enough to make an impact unless that 10% did it for the entire season.
