Apparently teams will really Rudolph on their roster by giving him the same deal as he currently has from the Steelers.

Literally no one said that. You said how hard teams would go after him and then suggested he'd get a $5 million deal. That isn't exactly a contract of a player in high demand as you suggested.But he sucks and is a bum so no one will sign him.

I called it, Mitch starts. I don’t know any reason that Rudy would start other than injury to the man above him. When Kenny is available next week, Red Nose will be sitting or maybe guiding my sleigh to night.
Rudy won’t be here next year where as Mitch has a pretty good chance of returning.

5 million is a more than Geno Smith’s deal for getting a shot to compete with Lock for starting. That’s what he is getting. An opportunity to compete. He’s not getting a guaranteed huge deal. He only has 10 career starts.

Fortunately Mitch knows he is signed for another year so the odds are we see him again. Mason Rudolf will hit the road spinning his wheels with nowhere to go.
I do hope Mason catches on somewhere and makes his back-up career a long one. Charlie Batch made a lengthy career out of back up role. Mason would be lucky to get that type of career.
Maybe Mason gets a “starters” shot and succeeds but he didn’t use the opportunities he had gotten here.

I mean even in the scenario he succeeds it’s still his fault he didn’t succeed here.

I think they keep Mitch one more year. Mason is a FA so he's gone. Mitch is still under contract for one more year but I think he stays unless he raises a big fuss about being the backup. If they trade or release him then next year they have a second-year QB and two brand new guys. As we saw this year, Pickett will get hurt at some point and Mitch will play.

I think Pickett’s game is more closely related to Trubisky than Rudolph. Both use their legs to scramble around and both throw errant balls into coverage.
And we’ll have to wait and see. Again I don’t think Trubisky stays. I believe he wants to start elsewhere or at least be given the chance. But I guess we will wait and see.

Was thinking the same thing, but not sure if he wants to be the bridge guy for another rookie first rounder
My hope is that the line gets shored up through FA and the draft and this doesn't happen.
