I'm excited about this season, and yes, it's because of our performance in the preseason. The Bills game was the only game we committed to the no-huddle offense, and we had a great first half. After that game, we did ZERO sustained no huddle. Steelers spent a lot of time on it in training camp, and I believe it will become our majority offense this season. If we have one thing working for us, it's exposing mismatches. Once we get a mismatch in personnel, I can see Ben speeding up the game to keep them on the field. Archer will be a mismatch to teams covering him with a LB, the receivers speed will be mismatches to teams with lesser CBs. Heath can be used to exploit the middle, and Bell will be able to use his vision to churn out yardage vs a spread out defense.

This is Ben's year. He knows how to run the no huddle, it did a great job with it at the end of last year, and since we're committing more time to it this year, I'm looking forward to watching him executing it.

Anything that gets us into the top 10 in offense would be a huge boost to this team.

The key will be if Munchak can get the Oline to play up to and beyond their potential. A dominant Oline will make everything click.

Although much better, I'm finding it hard for this current OL to be dominant. Time and experience definitely will help. If they can get just a little bit better, say ranked in the top 15, then all would be good.

The pass blocking was pretty good by the first unit at the end of last year and in preseason. Run blocking showed glimpses. If they can put it together we should see a solid offense. If they cant put it together under Munchak then there is no hope for them.

Also interested to see how they use the WRs. The progress of Wheaton and how they use the rest of the group to get some blocking out of them. Heyward-Bey may play more then we think because he is probably the best blocker out of the group.

All I can say is that I hope some of you can handle disappointment.

The offense should be able to put up in the high 20's to low 30's every week. Will they, is the question. We never seem to start games going for the jugular. We start games trying to feel the other team out. I hate that!

If the O can play up to what they are easily capable of, it will take some pressure off the D - especially if we can score early, as we should be able to. Scoring early in games this year will be huge for helping out the D. The O needs to carry us this year and definitely has the talent to do it.

If we score thirty and the other team doesn't score thirty or better my head won't explode I'll be very happy I was wrong about this team and it's capabilities. I do not expect it. I think we are going to have a slow start. Easy schedule or not we have a game on Sunday and one on Thursday. The team has historically done poor in those situations as I remember and the second game is an away game. So poor preseason still finding problems in the first game and the second one away and to close to go back to the lab and fix things. Could be a hole we begin digging now. I hope I'm wrong.

TDX27...

100% agree. The O needs to put the pedal down early in games and not let up.

If we actually figure out how important it is to play with a lead... we will be a different team. The help it would give our D cannot be overestimated.

I hope so......After the Bills game I was stoked for the season......... then we went to Philly.

I remember at times during the last few years that our No Huddle looked more like a 4 man relay in the Special Olympics than a finely tuned NFL Offense.

Kinda like every morning when you go to pee............ LOL

Whats wrong with enthusiasm? We can root and support our team regardless of what you may think. Are you the kind of person who looks for the bad, then isn't disappointed? I'm looking for the good, and if they lose or get humiliated, I try to find that sliver, no matter how small, that sliver of good that is. Build from there. Try it and maybe you'll turn that frown upside down...

Fantastic, kinda like the board sometimes. Karma to you

So, how about that Wheaton guy - is he ready to score some points?
