I disagree somewhat. If Biden is elected then he'll put on an ultra liberal just like Clinton did and Obama. Both got their liberal justices through GOP controlled senates with ease. The Reps don't play hardball. Please name me one single appointee to the SC by a dem that didn't make it? Just one... not only do they get put on the court, but most of the votes aren't even close. They'll give him any SC justice he wants. Bank on it.
Also I'm not in love with Haley. I'd rather have Carlson. Haley left the administration and now is on the board of Boeing. She's done everything to a "T" to get ready for 2024. I'm not sure she is enough of an outsider for me. She seems a bit "swampie" to me? We'll see.
It's just a different political atmosphere now. The right is not going to cave and let a super-liberal in like RBG again. Not if they have the votes in the Senate.
I think even more than the Presidency right now, we should all be paying attention to the Senate battles.
First, as opposed to 2018, this November there are predominantly Republican's up for re-election in the Senate: 23 (R) and 12 (D) are up for re-election. So that makes it very hard to make gains and easier to lose seats.
Luckily, republicans are almost assuredly going to re-take Alabama (+1) to total 54.
But there are FIVE (maybe six) toss-ups that are held by Republicans
Arizona (McSally), Maine (Collins), Colorado (Gardner), Montana (Daines) and North Carolina (Tillis). Georgia (Loeffler), is getting blatantly attacked my big media right now over her conservative opinions vs. her ownership of a WNBA franchise so that's potentially one to watch as well.
I mean, a really bad turnout by Republicans and it's not looking good at all. Trump, even if his ship is sinking, MUST campaign hard in these states to help the sitting Senators.
We will see, but it's arguably more important that the Presidency.
