It's only natural that Mitch gets the nod initially. Camp should provide good conversations this summer, as long as we ignore the attention seekers that tend to come and go.
 
I think Mitch could very well start-off camp taking first-team snaps. I think that Kenny Pickens should have the QB1 role wrapped-up by opening day... Some people have the right idea... they're just late to the party...
Have people saying he'll start the season actually read his contract... or at least previous content on this very forum saying he doesn't get QB1 money unless he plays so many QB1 minutes? As has been stated before, the NFL is a business, so unless Mitch proves his worth, Pittsburgh will save money, and, I don't know, give considerable Christmas bonuses to the big nasties up front...

Whoever the starter is will win the job outright. Money won't factor in if that is what you are suggesting. If things are equal? My money is on the vet getting the nod with game experience giving him the edge...
