Steelers believe Brett Keisel tore triceps

The team believes veteran defensive end Brett Keisel has torn his triceps, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, via two sources informed of the injury.

Keisel will undergo an MRI to confirm that his season is over.

One thing I noticed during the game was they seemed to have a much tougher time running when Keisel was on the field. He is everything you want in a a Steeler. Hate this injury. Time for Tuitt to step up.

Too bad Keisel did bring that intensity the defense was lacking and who will replace that? Mauro would have been nice to stash on the 53 man just because of this. I guess we will see what Tuitt can do because lord knows Cam Thomas can't do squat.

this is my beef. Jones will never see the field, even if Ben goes down, he doesn't even dress, so why keep his "run of the mill" QB ***? He is and never will be a franchise QB. He may not be good enough to be a number 2. Furthermore, there are holes on this team that are gaping, but are wasted on several projects and never-will-bes.

Steelers place DE Brett Keisel on injured reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed defensive end Brett Keisel on injured reserve with a triceps injury, the team announced on Monday.

Keisel tore his triceps on Sunday in a loss to the New Orleans Saints. After the game, safety Mike Mitchell said, "It almost makes you want to cry when you lose a player like that because he's so instrumental to who we are and what we try to do here."
