Steelers Have A Deal In Place For Brandon Aiyuk

Meh.....would you rather get paid as much $$$ as possible or a lot less $$$$ but you get a trophy that says you were one of the best workers at your job for that year?
Perfect example

Every job I’ve ever worked I’ve said just give me cash over awards. Trophies, plaques and the like are nice but cash is king.

How many of the former SB winners from the pre salary cap era would turn in their rings for the bank accounts they’d have if they played in today’s far more lucrative NFL??? My guess is it’s a high percentage.

Thanks for the laugh? The Cowgals actually winning when it matters (all the way to a championship) is almost as ridiculous as well…

😢 the hell unleashing Tomlins doing it

You see, Coach Tomlin’s “unleashing hell” was taken the wrong way in its meaning……………………

He has “unleashed hell” in his mediocre production. He has kept us in hell, since the statement and he knew exactly what he was doing.

Aiyuk imo is a nice player, a very good receiver.
Maybe ranked somewhere between 10-12 top WRs in the league. Wouldn’t pay him 28 million per season. Thats me though.
Now, Cee Dee Lamb is ******* lights out as a player. Great WR… Top three guy imo. Cowboys had to pay him just below Jefferson money.

The real question is...

How much of a bind does this put San Francisco in??? Aiyuk is not going to accept whatever they've worked on all week now. Just my opinion...
Between Aiyuk, Williams and Purdy the 49ers were in a bind regardless. Like I said, I’m surprised the 49ers didn’t take what they could get for Aiyuk and move on.

I know the salary cap increases yearly, but man that is a lot of cap space on just a few players.

I hope we don’t end up there.

I think we add a WR, but a less costly one.

End up where? With a bunch of players pushing us toward a SB win that need paid(because they are good)? I would take that every year if possible.

Seriously though. I would love to be in SF spot. Unfortunately coaching seems to be holding us way back. Maybe this year will be different. One can hope/dream....right Coolie?

With BA they are a better team than with out him. Let him play out his contract. Probably compete for a SB. Collect a 3rd round comp pick....a move on. I see no issue with that route.

Lotta decent potential receivers tossed out on the scrap heap

Some here say we should have never traded Deonte Johnson, but I say we couldn’t keep him as he was setting us backwards. His attitude (both locker room & field of play) was a downward spiral. Could he snap out crisp patterns, hellA yes, but clutch catches and leadership were lacking. He didn’t have the winner attitude or work ethic needed, thus he is gone.

I realize it is a gamble with every player, but also think we can find a solid #2 with little attitude (except to win), and a working monster. Also, the money will be right.

Now all we need it to just know WHO………………………

Cap space hell, we’ve been there and it6 wasn’t fun. Get a few Cam salary types and we could get there pretty fast.

I’m just saying, if we can get a decent #2 and not break the farm, I’m all for it.

I’m not a craptologist, so someone else will have to manage the cap, like maybe Omar & Co..

Assuming he ends his hold out early on.

Sports on the 6:00 news today showing a bunch of vet WR's cut from other teams. I'm thinking that's the way they'll go since they can't get Aiyuk.
If the Khan Man could have worked a deal for him they'd have done it already.

Our cap is great over the next five years... one of the cleanest in the league...

The Browns keep pushing money back... at some point in the near future its gonna get real ugly...

Also, NFl gms havent figured out cap space is an asset.. you can go to a cap strapped team and get a well paid player pennies on the dollar if you are willing to absorb his hit...

If we are fighting for a SB birth I will take any situation SF is in. It means they are drafting great. Their coaching is doing their jobs. And everyone wants paid. That is when Omar really has to do his job. Stuck in this 9 win season and getting blown out in the playoffs if we happen to make it is neat and all....but some people just want more.

I’d make a run at Noah Brown as my first choice or maybe TMJ as my option 2…need someone who is not a midget imo

Yep, they are set to bring a good QB on board if they can ever find one

You’re not the only one on top of that rock, we all want more. Currently our cap is very clean, I just don’t want to fall back into a cap hellA situation. Our drafting is finally turning around and we seem to be making head-way. We are still a year or two behind what the 49’ers have.

Yes, Noah Brown was the odd player out in a stacked WR in HOU. If I was Omar I’d grab him as fall back if nothing else comes in scope. Forget Auik, Omar’s deal to SF included the contract number for him. That’s changes what he wants because of Lambs deal.

In theory, yes. In reality, you can’t reliably buy championships. Myself, I would rather spend the money on MORE 2nd and 3rd tier players, instead of 1-2 top teir, then be forced to fill with bottom tier players.

Buying players was not the argument. The players SF have that are being referred to are all coming up for new contracts shortly. I would love to be in their position.....fighting for a SB berth and or SB victory with their star players getting ready to be paid.

They better do something fast. If not Aiyuk then get somebody. This WR room is a joke. 3 of 5 are under 6ft in an offense that is supposed to be built around being big and physical. Pickens and Van Jefferson are over 6 ft but aren't exactly Hines Ward out there either.
