We definitely could use a number 2 option. I know the have Wilson, Muth , and can pass to one of the RBs to lighten the concern but it still remains a concern. If they could get something better out of Washington and or Austin that would help too. Just not the desirable approach to hope for all this and assume the options remain healthy.
All things considered I doubt we are done adding WR bodies. We need at least a legit #2 WR to add to what we have. I just hope and pray JuJu is NOT the option they are thinking of, he is toast physically (knee).

Your boy Chase claypoole A second-round pick of the Steelers in 2020, he had an excellent rookie year with 62 catches for 873 yards and nine touchdowns, dunce.

He's just a rookie; what's the most than can be expected from a rookie WR?
Maybe he gets single coverage and makes people pay for it. Hopefully perhaps. Purely speculation on my part though.

I believe JuJu also had a nice rookie season. They were given single coverage mostly and Ben made them pay.

Definitely need another consistent reciever. But in Smiths offense it could very well be a tightend. Muth might have 1 hell of a year if they do not trade for another WR

Puka Nacua had 105 catches for 1,486 yards and scored 6 touchdowns in 17 games in 2023. So you never know, maybe we strike gold with Wilson.

George Pickens had 52 catches for 801 yards and scored 5 touchdowns in 17 games in his rookie season in 2022. Just sayin'.

58 grabs for 917 yds, 7 TD as a rookie. Nothing to sneeze at, especially for a rookie (Damn if Ben didn't make WRs better). 111 grabs, 1425 yds in his 2nd year (2018) by far his best season. Nothing near that since. Did have a 78, 933 yds in 2022 in KC, as his highpoint since but then collapsed (29, 260) in 2023 in NE.

Top WR's are looking at getting $30+ million per. Can/will we even be able to keep GP? Crazy market for WR's again as it was a couple of years ago.

GP hasn't put up any #'s to deserve being paid top WR $.

He's averaging a little less than 1,000 yards per season, 94 recp., 4.5 TDs per season. That's a solid notch below top WRs. We will see what he does with a real OC/QB this year. If he upgrades his production to 1,200 yrs, 100+ recpt and 10+ TDs, then we will have to decide on his pay.

True but look who's been throwing to him. I expect him to have a significant jump this year and the Steelers will look to sign him after the season. If he has a good year, he'll jump into the $25 to 30 million conversation.

Yup, if he increases his #'s to the top WRs' #s he will create a top WR demand with top WR $.

I think I'd be safe in saying Puka is the anomaly of rookie WRs' production. The chances of those #s repeating are slim and none. 105 recpts, 1,486 yards?
