Steelers VS Dolphins game thread

Bush played about as well as he is capable tonight. I will say that.
I thought after the coaches made defensive adjustments they played solid on that side of the ball. Partial problem was that it took too long to identify the issue then adjust. Still enough of a defensive effort to win a game if the O was up to snuff.

It's actually shocking that Miami only scored 16. Gotta give the defense some love for that.

The problem is,I think they would trade our draft picks for players.
They should have about $20M in cap space next year. Pickup some good OL/DL in FA . Draft the **** out of what you don't get in FA.
Too many pretty boy/skill position players and not enough quality Big Uglies on this team.

I was at the game today and Lawrence looked pretty damn good. He damn near won the game at the end and he should have.

I’d like to see Kenny without Canada involved and with less throws to D Johnson who doesn’t seem to make the catches or route adjustments when needed.

I don't see him that way. The refs gifted them that last drive. He looked like total *** last year. You'd swear he got drafted in round 6.

We will see how well he does the rest of the year. Not that I really care I hate the jags, but I try and pay attention to what high draft pick quarterbacks are doing.

What do we average PPG ?

Something like 17.8

That’s not going to win many games

It's fair to say a guy isn't ready to start when he has 2 TDs and 7 INTs. What's your end game this season, give Pickett experience and take the results as they come or try for a middling record with Trubisky or Rudolph?
I was. In the “let him sit” camp, but all of Steeler Nation couldn’t wait for him to play. Well now he’s playing. Have a little patience. I was pretty sure that when he came in, we were going to lose some games we might have won with a qb with more experience. There is no going back now.

Steelers vs. Bills
Pickett - 52 pass attempts
Team - 17 rushing attempts
3 sacks
55 pass attempts to 17 rushing attempts

Steelers vs. Bucs
Pickett - 18 pass attempts
Team - 16 rushing attempts while Pickett was in (including 2 scrambles)
1 sack
21 passing plays to 14 running plays

Steelers vs. Dolphins
Pickett - 44 pass attempts
Team - 23 rushing attempts (including 3 scrambles)
2 sacks
49 passing plays to 20 rushing plays

Steelers treating Pickett like he's Ben Roethlisberger. They did the same thing with Mitch. I thought this was the entire reason they drafted Najee, so they could run the ball.

By comparison, in Zappe's three games for the Patriots:
*21 passing attempts + 4 combined sacks for Zappe (15 attempts, 3 sacks) vs. 33 runs
*21 passing attempts vs. 35 runs
*34 passing attempts + 2 sacks vs. 29 runs
Well giving the rock to Najee and his 3 yards per carry will get er' done fo sho.....

Well there were people that hated we drafted him, so it's not shocking they're pouncing on the opportunity to lambaste him happily
Actually, I think the folks who hated drafting him the most were myself, @slashsteel and @bermudasteel. We each have been realistic that many of Kenny's mistakes are Rookie mistakes and hope that he learns/progresses. There's also about 3-4 of his INTs that are results of catchable balls his WRs have tipped.
Now, there are also those folks who won't admit that the kid even makes mistakes. Home Town Hero and all that.

And dropped more passes than “Drops” Johnson. Any one of those picks being made could have changed the game.
Honestly, two of the drops didn’t result in points, so they didn’t really hurt us.

Clearly. Other than the DBs catch woes and the first drive you can hardly fault them. I feel this is another one that could have been in win column with Watt.

I agree there’s no going back. I was hoping the offense would’ve opened up more with a mitch earlier in the season and it didn’t. This team is going nowhere this season so build on what you have and see what you need moving forward.

Damn, I fell asleep and missed the second half. What did I miss?

My fear is when that turns it will turn hard. I didn't want him in the game. I thought it was a bad idea. I think your assessment is accurate. He had some great moments but.....

Shhh
Season is a wash but you let him get his feet wet and press on,he will be fine
That’s the thing Charlie. It’s gonna depend on his mental fortitude. Everything I have seen so far shows his confidence, his fire and his desire to win. I do believe he has the tools to be an above average QB. Hopefully he has the developed skill of being able to forget the bad plays and learn from them. I personally think they still should have started him after the bye week, but hey.......all systems ahead. To be fair to Mitch ,Kenny didn’t play particularly well today. Handcuffed or not by our OC. Why can’t they just turn our guys loose and see what they really have. It’s getting incredibly frustrating. And has been for too long. Gutless Football.

we lost a winnable game. I think our coaches did well in the second half

Everyone praises Tua, but he could have had a 3 maybe 4 pick night tonight....Kenny will get better. He may not be the second coming of Joe Montana but he'll be good enough.
Not sure who was praising Tua. I thought he looked like **** tonight. Missed a ton of passes. Scored zero points in the second half. Like us.
