Steelers VS Dolphins game thread

Man we suk! that 3rd down holding on moore… he should have got benched right then and there on national tv… he’s a bum and he’s playing like one should have got benchEd! The pick at the end probably on johnson he played like **** all nite! Why do we have these yapper wrs? The pick before that one was on kenny after the holding play… we just suk! We’ve spent all these draft picks on the offense why do we have journeymen coaching them? Canada and the line coach just suk beyond anything we’ve seen in a long while.

I love how “getting thrown in mid game” is both a way to explain Trubisky’s great performance last week and an excuse for Pickett’s failures for the foreseeable future.

Canada really does hold this O back. Sure there was plays that was there for the taking on both sides. But the play calling on offense sucks more often than not.

the defense is playng much much better.. and TJ is coming back

Everyone throwing Manning’s rookie season as a comparison. Manning averaged 233 yards a game and ended up with 26 tds to 28 ints on an awesome Colts team.
ENDED the season with those numbers. Look at the STARTING numbers, since KP is just starting. I am not saying KP is PM, just that they are similar at this point.

We stayed in the game with how Miami came out. I still question what and when Canada calls plays. Plays up the middle to the TE only when it was necessary at the end tonight. Nothing to a receiver where he can get yards after catch, always close to sidelines. All that BS movement actually cost the one drive where we continued backwards on penalties. Nothing to anyone in stride where we actually pick up big yards. Kenny on the two last picks should have thrown underneath on both get what you can have a chance for next play.

Steelers vs. Bills
Pickett - 52 pass attempts
Team - 17 rushing attempts
3 sacks
55 pass attempts to 17 rushing attempts

Steelers vs. Bucs
Pickett - 18 pass attempts
Team - 16 rushing attempts while Pickett was in (including 2 scrambles)
1 sack
21 passing plays to 14 running plays

Steelers vs. Dolphins
Pickett - 44 pass attempts
Team - 23 rushing attempts (including 3 scrambles)
2 sacks
49 passing plays to 20 rushing plays

Steelers treating Pickett like he's Ben Roethlisberger. They did the same thing with Mitch. I thought this was the entire reason they drafted Najee, so they could run the ball.

By comparison, in Zappe's three games for the Patriots:
*21 passing attempts + 4 combined sacks for Zappe (15 attempts, 3 sacks) vs. 33 runs
*21 passing attempts vs. 35 runs
*34 passing attempts + 2 sacks vs. 29 runs

Rookie growing pains in a trash offense. It only part way works when you run the 2 min offense.

Yeah just bad decisions by Pickett forcing stuff at the end. I'd rather get that stuff over with now.

I've watched a whole bunch of top 5 draft picks over the last 5 years look like *** for a few seasons. Peyton Manning looked like **** his first season too.

This dude Lawrence down here in Jacksonville looked like absolute dogshit last year. He's only half dogshit this year. That's a No.1 overall Mr so called generational player.

The OC and his offense are trash.
I was at the game today and Lawrence looked pretty damn good. He damn near won the game at the end and he should have.

I’d like to see Kenny without Canada involved and with less throws to D Johnson who doesn’t seem to make the catches or route adjustments when needed.

Which is exactly the typical recipe for a Tomlin Team that struggles early then comes on strong at the end, finishes 500 and misses the playoffs … which is only slightly worse than the other type of season where we start out strong and collapse down the stretch

Pickett sucks, he's a bust, never should have drafted him, should've stuck with Trubisky........... that's the new narrative that will prevail right? Am I one of the cool kids now?........😒

Najee hasn’t shown that he take over a game ….that’s part of the problem IMO

the difference is the Pats value OL play and they are able to teach guys to block. That's why they can run the ball with mediocre RBs and a backup QB.

The steelers on the other hand, bought into the stupid notion that if you have good enough skill players, the OL doesn't matter. So instead of drafting OL, just spend a 1st rounder on a RB.

It’s not an excuse, it’s realism. He did some good things, he did some bad things. Typical of a rookie. Mitch has been in 5 years now so if we’re saying they’re about equal it doesn’t say much for Mitch.

Johnson is as overfuckingrated as they come. The dude NEVER fights back to the football, he never comes up big when his # is called, and (of course) can’t catch worth a ****. I hated that they gave this dude a new deal, and thought his *** should’ve been left to sit out.

Folks this is a bad team as a whole. I'd dismantle the entire offense this week. Fire the OC and get someone with a brain. You're NEVER going to win much with this. Only the 2 min offense works. Last year we had a master of it running it pulling out games. This year it's a rookie.

Start rebuilding the offensive scheme this season. Trial by fire. There's no reason not to.
