Steelers waive Dylan Cook

Very, very strange... perhaps a trade is coming... they did need roster spaces for returning players... but Cook was kept on the roster all last season and they used one of their 8 IR return spots on him already...i just dont understand why they activate him just to release him.. unless they still want him on the PS...

Maybe aRT option is available right now, and its worth keeping them away from a rival

I thought they would release Max Sharping. But I think they do resign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers. I doubt he gets past the Giants tho

I was surprised he got the return from IR, but the OL was getting decimated.

At any rate I won’t lose sleep over Cook, betting they PS him as Mad suggested.

A couple ok preseason games doesn’t buy a player much equity in the Not For Long league.

Cook is only interesting because he is extremely raw and talented... he has size and athleticism...

One of the best developmental stories of the Tomlin era was Alejandro Villanueva...

In college AV played a bunch of positions.. TE,WR,DE,OT..
he initially tried to get in to the Nfl in 2010 as a TE... he failed, did a tour in Afghanistan, two years later tried the nfl again as aTE in 2012... failed and went back to the army till 2014, when the Eagles signed him as a DE... we picked him up when they cut him and developed him into a starting LT...

Cook is along that path... extremely athletic, smart, and large
Cook was an oversized QB who transferred to Montana and was converted to OL... he did start 23 games there, but is real raw still...

Its probable that he simply needs more seasoning and they need the roster spot...

He doesnt get developed on the IR...

I falsely assumed it was because he wasn’t Tomlin’s buddy or they couldn’t trade for his brother James Cook…false assumptions are what fuels the greatness of this board

So I’ll continue with false assumptions but do so concisely and never going over one sentence, unless there are many angles to assume false narratives and then I will explore them all and come to the conclusion that Dumblin gonna dumb
