What a piece of ****. Can you imagine if Trump had left 10k+ citizens surrounded and basically told them sorry about your luck. We're not coming to get you and we will be leaving Aug 31. We don't have the resources, although I did threaten Americans with F-15's and nuclear weapons. And barricaded off the capital with 10 k troops against a fictional enemy.

People would be screaming about the greatest failure of the presidency ever 24/7. Nancy Piglosi would be impeaching again and they would be justified in doing so.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley provided an update of the evacuation of American citizens and pledged to successfully evacuate all American citizens attempting to flee the war-torn region.

"Right now there are troops at-risk. We are the United States military, and we will successfully evacuate all American citizens who want to get out of Afghanistan," Milley said during a joint press conference with Austin. "They are our priority #1. In addition, we intend to evacuate those who have been supporting us for years, and we are not going to leave them behind. And we will get as many out as possible."

"We remain laser-focused right now on Hamid Karzai International Airport," Lloyd said, adding that 4,500 troops were in Kabul helping with evacuation efforts.

"There have been no hostile interactions with the Taliban, and our lines of communication with Taliban commanders remain open as they should be," Austin said.

"The forces that we have are focused on the security of the airfield," Austin said. "We will continue to coordinate and de-conflict with the Taliban and make sure those people who need to get to the airfield have the right credentials to ensure passage. The Taliban has been checking those credentials and if they have them they have allowed them to pass.

"We are the United States Military. We are coordinating with the Taliban to ensure OUR CITIZENS are allowed to get to the airport." That is essentially what he is saying, and you are holding that up as some sort of virtue. Meanwhile the British and French are outside the damn wire bringing their citizens to the airport.

Joe Biden cancelled every Trump policy, plan, and program. Yet left this one in tact for some strange reason. You actually believe that. Unreal.

Former President Donald Trump stated Friday that President Joe Biden’s leaving Americans to die in Afghanistan is a “dereliction of duty.”
“Leaving Americans behind for death is an unforgivable dereliction of duty, which will go down in infamy,” Trump’s statement read regarding President Joe Biden’s chaotic evacuation from the failed state of Afghanistan.
Trump also criticized Biden on Thursday by explaining how a proper Afghan withdrawal should have been conducted.
“First you bring out all of the American citizens. Then you bring out ALL equipment. Then you bomb the bases into smithereens,” Trump’s statement said. “AND THEN YOU BRING OUT THE MILITARY.”

“You don’t do it in reverse order like Biden and our woke Generals did. No chaos, no death—they wouldn’t even know we left!” said Trump.
The Associated Press (AP) reported Friday Biden is struggling to evacuate all Americans from Afghanistan before the August 31 deadline. Extending the deadline would require “the Taliban’s acquiescence.”
The AP also reported Friday that up to 15,000 Americans were trapped in the country. Tuesday’s media reports suggested 10,000 to 40,000 Americans remained in Afghanistan.
As America struggles to protect its citizens, Russia has offered to evacuate Afghans, while the French are running operations to rescue foreign nationals in Kabul outside its embassy.
United States officials have said they do not have the capability to rescue Americans outside Hamid Karzai International Airport. “I don’t have the capability to go out and extend operations currently into Kabul,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated when questioned about those Americans who cannot reach the airport because they are behind Taliban checkpoints.
