The official President Donald J. Trump Thread

Trump considering SC Gov. Nikki Haley for secretary of State

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley is under consideration by President-elect Donald Trump for secretary of state, and other cabinet positions, a transition source told CNN Wednesday, despite their rocky history.

Trump is going to meet with Haley, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Cincinnati Mayor Ken Blackwell, Admiral Mike Rogers and Rep. Jeb Hensarling on Thursday, according to Trump’s communication director Jason Miller and Republican National Committee spokesman Sean Spicer.

Sheriff Clarke Vetted for Major Role in Trump White House

As President-elect Donald Trump continues to flesh out his cabinet, rumors continue to swirl about the possible selections for various positions.

The New York Times is reporting that Trump may choose a prominent African-American to the role of Secretary of Homeland Security.

David Clarke, a staunch conservative and man who kicks *** and takes names when it comes to far-left rioters and radical Islamic terrorists. A perfect choice for American law and order.

Surprised at Haley for SOS but I would take her over Rick Scott any day. And, Kissinger? How old is that dude?

Denmark To Up Military Spending After Trump Call

Denmark is ready to increase military and national security spending, Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen said on Wednesday after a phone conversation with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump criticised NATO allies during campaigning for the White House, saying they did not pay enough for their own defence and suggested the United States was paying a disproportionate amount.

Denmark spends about 1.2 percent of GDP on defence. NATO has set its members a target of spending 2 percent of GDP on defence.

"The government is setting the stage for increasing spending on military and national security," Rasmussen said in a statement after the phone call.

Weird. It's almost like countries respond to real leadership from the US.

Republicans added to their historic 2014 gains in the nation’s state legislatures with the addition of five state House chambers and two state Senate chambers in last week’s election, while Democratic control was reduced to levels not seen since the Civil War.

Republicans are now in control of a record 67 (68 percent) of the 98 partisan state legislative chambers in the nation, more than twice the number (31) in which Democrats have a majority, according to the bipartisan National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).

“That’s more than at any other time in the history of the Republican Party,” according to NCSL. “They also hold more total seats, well over 4,100 of the 7,383, than they have since 1920.”

Hey George Will, somehow the Republican party is surviving Trump.

Apple could make iPhones in US in future: sources

"Apple asked both Foxconn and Pegatron, the two iPhone assemblers, in June to look into making iPhones in the U.S.," a source said. "Foxconn complied, while Pegatron declined to formulate such a plan due to cost concerns."

The person added that one view among the Apple supply chain in Taiwan is that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump may push the Cupertino, California-based tech titan to make a certain number of iPhone components at home.

Currently Apple is saying that it will cost double to make iPhones in the U.S., so they have work to do, but it's nice that they feel like they need to take a serious look at it. This is how change happens.

While I don't care for this, I respect it at the same time. Trump is showing he is willing to bridge the gap in the party. Trump knows what he's doing inspite of all the reports that he's in disarray

Bullshit reports. Don't believe a thing the media is saying, they are still butthurt the country hates them as DNC propangandists and they blame Trump

Just saw Fox talking about Romney to meet with Trump. Can't believe he is considering him but who knows.

Donald Trump plans ‘victory tour’

President-elect Donald Trump is hitting the road in the coming weeks for a new round of rallies to celebrate his election, according to his campaign advance-team director, George Gigicos.

“We’re working on a victory tour now; it will happen in the next couple of weeks,” Gigicos told reporters at Trump Tower on Thursday, per the presidential transition pool report.

Gigicos said Trump’s victory tour will start some time “after Thanksgiving.” He did not identify any of the places Trump plans to visit but said they would focus on “the swing states we flipped over” and other places where Trump scored wins on Election Day last week.

Trump continuing with his lifetime pattern of hiring the best person for the job. Libs won't understand this.
I think the Mittmeister would be a good Secretary of State or Secretary of Commerce. My pick for Secretary of Commerce frankly would be Carly Fiorina.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised by inauguration you might see some a democrat or 2 in the mix. Folks need to realize that although he may not have any political experience, he has experience as an executive officer which he president is in a technical sense. He is going to be very effective and efficient

I think it would send a huge message that Trump will pick whoever he thinks will be best for a Trump presidency. And it would silence one his biggest critics, who would be following his orders!

Or maybe Mitt is being called in to bend the knee, like Cruz.

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Mitt Romney called to congratulate me on the win. Very nice!

Mitt Romney ✔ @MittRomney
Best wishes for our duly elected president: May his victory speech be his guide and preserving the Republic his aim.

Japan PM says 'I can have great confidence' in Trump after meeting

NEW YORK – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe became the first world leader to meet President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday, seeking reassurances over the future of U.S.-Japan security and trade relations.

Abe met with Trump in New York, where the incoming president is working on setting up an administration after his surprise election victory last week that has injected new uncertainty into old U.S. alliances.

"I do believe that without confidence between the two nations (the) alliance would never function in the future and (after) the outcome of today's discussion I am convinced Mr. Trump is a leader in whom I can have great confidence," Abe said following the meeting.
