Rudy gets the start against the Bengals. If Kenny is ready he’s the backup. Looks like Mitch is in Shades doghouse.

Same ****, different week. None of our QB's are even remotely close to being competent. Whether that is play book, scheme, play calling, personnel...etc it doesn't really matter. When people are calling for Mason Rudolph it shows how far we have fallen as a team.

I really hope Mason plays well. Seems like a nice guy who never complains and goes about his business in a professional manner. I’d like to see him do a good job to put on tape for next year even for another team as a backup.

The more QBs that fail in the system the better chance for a major change for this offense.
That is like "chefs" on Kitchen Nightmares that think their food tastes good and then get ripped a new one. Tomlin, after 2 years, still thought this offense was good and brought Canada back for this year. If the head coach of an NFL team cannot see that his offensive scheme is abysmal...nothing is going to change that. Some people can tell when food is seasoned properly and some have no taste buds at all.

I don’t have expectations of a 350 yard 4 touchdown game. But if he can get us 225 yards and 2 touchdowns with one or less interceptions we will have a shot at winning.

Tomlin told Rudy if he can squeeze out 2 more wins this year he gets a two year extension for preserving the most meaningful record in all of football

It’s the start of a Christmas miracle!!! Wouldn’t be right without Rudolph guiding the sleigh
Mason also has a chance to make some money.

FFL is going to need an undies change after he reads this.

Thank God.

I don't look for Mason to do anythuing great but if he just protects the ball a little better then it's an improvement.

I've seen enough of Trubisky. He should not be back on this roster next year. Just a wasted roster spot and wasted money.

Thank God.
Lol........we’ll see after next game. 🙂

But on a serious note.....I really think they should start Mason the rest of the season. We know what we have with Mitch....he should be gone now......We will see what we have with Mason after a couple years on the sidelines ,if he shows nothing he should be gone as well. If not a cheap contract offer, depending how he plays. I’m not expecting a heck of a lot,but would love it if he shocks me with greatness. Kenny should rest it out. Time for him to reset with a new OC in the offseason.
Reset mentally and physically.

I would hope for high end what he did vs the Browns a few years ago when he had a week to practice as the starter. 315 2/1. Mid end I would say what he did vs the Lions with little prep as Roethlisberger ended up testing positive for covid later in the week and I don’t think Rudolph got the Lions share of reps. That was 242 1/1. Low end I would say what he did vs the Browns when Garrett tried beating him to death with his own helmet. 221 1/4.

I like the move. Put Mitch at #3 rest of year and use him and McFarland as trade bait for the draft.

I really could care less who starts this team in done. But all the raw raw for Rudolph is funny when everyone wanted him gone two years ago let alone all yelling trade Rudolph from this site in training camp. Tomlin look like a secondhand coach with taking Mitch out with two minutes left, really what did that accomplish except it also more than likely embarrassed Rudolph as well as Mitch. Tomlin thinks he did something great made this team look like a bunch of losers. I love the Steelers, but reality has hit, Tomlin finally did it took all that was the Steelers and let it fade away.

Got nothing to lose IMO with benching Mitch and starting Rudolph ...
With nearly a week of practice reps, I'm curious to see how he plays.
If the O-line can give him time and our idiotic receivers don't quit on plays Mason can connect deep, unlike Mitch. His problem is on crossing routes, deep slants, etc. there he looks a lot like Mitch as far as accuracy. Unless he's put in a lot of work and surprises everyone....I won't be holding my breath.
