Ahead of California, Sanders Warns Media Against Preemptive Coronation of Clinton

Addressing concerns that the media may preemptively announce his rival Hillary Clinton as the "presumptive Democratic Party nominee" even before she has won the requisite numbers of pledge delegates, Bernie Sanders over the weekend indicated that such reporting would be both wrong and irresponsible and held to his commitment to take his campaign all the way to the national convention when so-called superdelegates will finally—and for the first time, in fact—be able to cast their vote for who they believe will make the best nominee.

"It is extremely unlikely that Secretary Clinton will have the requisite number of pledged delegates to claim victory on Tuesday night," Sanders said at a press conference in California on Saturday. "Now I have heard reports that Secretary Clinton has said it’s all going to be over on Tuesday night. I have reports that the media, after the New Jersey results come in, are going to declare that it is all over. That simply is not accurate."

Sanders supporters planning to rally at convention

Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign is seeking a demonstration permit for the day before the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Philadelphia.

The Sanders campaign wants to hold a "traditional Bernie campaign rally" July 24 at FDR Park in South Philadelphia, campaign spokesman Michael Briggs said.

He also has requests for the campaign, in particular that the rally be open to everyone with March for Bernie, a group of supporters not affiliated with the campaign.

The rally was approved under a demonstration permit for 30,000 people

Leftists like to say things like "only whites can be racist because only whites have power". The issue is used by the media and politicians to drive wedges between working class people.

You're being used, son. I get that you don't want to see that, but you are. Your employment and tax burdens are not dictated by the number of "illegal" immigrants in America. Migrants have been coming here for 150 years, good times and bad. Our economy has done well with high migration and poorly with low migration.

I'd like to see reforms to our health/education/welfare systems. I'd like to see reforms to our tax code and spending practices. I'd like to see reforms to our criminal justice system. All of these things can be done, and done effectively, without targeting people because of their race, religion, or "legal status." Without dragging prejudices into it.

In short, my problem with Supe, Tim, Farva, Ron and the rest of the haters is that they're so busy blaming that they never spend any time solving.

Bingo. For as long as any of us can remember, Conservatives have been held to a standard Liberals refuse to live by. Conservatives have had to endure the vile, unfair, insulting attacks of the Left with the media's support. We've had to endure Bush compared to Hitler. Every black Conservative politician being labeled an Uncle Tom. Every Christian being labeled a right wing nut job. Every one of us being labeled racists, bigots, Islamaphobes, and more.

We all know what would happen if a Republican had stood up in New York City and made the joke about being late being due to operating on CP time. But the Liberals are given a pass. Always.

And now, as predicted, when it appears Conservatives could once again win the White House, the Left has changed from their baseless insensitive attacks to demanding the Right live by a higher standard they would never adhere to themselves.

THIS is one of the major reasons Trump appeals. People are fed up with the treatment and the hypocrisy.

The scary part is...as people now feel more and more empowered to treat the other side the way we ourselves have been treated, it's going to lead to more and more violence. Conservatives are being beaten on at political rallies. By and large, to this point, they've kept their cool. Yea, because Roots is so emblematic of all white people. My people are Scots-Irish. Hell, they never had a pot to piss in half the time, let alone own anybody.

People are always going to be divided somewhat. That problem is never going away. Instead of going through this nonsense about perfect harmony, realize there are differences. You know, we have done pretty well compared to other countries even with our differences. You are trying to get to some utopia that will never be reached. I have a black neighbor behind me. Great guy. We talk on occasion out in the alley, but that's about it. But his interests are different than mine. There is nothing racist about those differences. Our taxes go to pay for stuff, which would include welfare or benefits or whatever it is they give illegals. To say that our taxes don't just doesn't make any sense. Where the hell is the government getting the money for it, then?
