What a huge disappointment. I've been a P.E. fan since they formed. Own every album. Absolutely love the messages in P.E.'s music. There may be 2 or 3 of their songs I cannot recite/rap/sing word for word. When Ali passed, I played their Ali Rap Theme. Fear of a Black Planet, Apocalypse 91 - The Enemy Strikes Black are two of my go to albums. I LOVE P.E.

They came to my college. Since I was an athlete, I got to assist setting up the stage and so forth. Got front row seats. Touched Flava's clock. Got a hi-five from Chuck D.

You know how I and Timsteelerfan "solve" problems? The way every citizen should - we go to work, pay our bills, spend time with our wives and kids, look after our family, respect our neighbors, respect our neighbors property, and miss maybe 1 day of work per year "sick" (for me, missing a Monday so that I could watch the Steelers in person in San Diego on MNF).

Steel Vanguard, you and I seem to be pretty closely aligned in our political views, from what I can tell based on your posts. Believe me, I've faced the wrath of the right wing majority here. Certain posters, notably IndySteel, has in my view crossed the line several times with personal attacks et al. I was offended at first, but after a while I chose to take the high road. If anything, that was a sign that it's okay to 'hit back' with certain posters, stand your ground, and maybe take a few swings back. That's what men do. I myself have probably gone a bit too far from time to time.

But I've got to tell you, your personal attacks on oneforthebus are totally unacceptable. First, you're talking to a lady, for crying out loud. If you're a real man, you'd never talk to a lady like that. It's as simple as that.

Second, it's everyone's choice to visit this board, to participate in the discourse. It's a community of Steelers' fans, that's the common bond between us all. We come from all walks of life, different races, different religions and political views. To attack fellow posters in the manner you do, again, is unacceptable.

My rule of thumb for posting on the internet, is act the way you would when getting together with people in a bar, or at a picnic or a barbecue. In what world do you live in that would allow you to speak to oneforthebus, or even Supe, in the manner that you do? You'd have guys swinging at you within minutes, me included.

You're evidently a proud black dude (I guess), all the power to you. But no real man brags about his sexual exploits the way you do. That tells me you're probably fantasizing about all the things you'd like to do. The young blondes, all the tail that you get. Who the **** gets on the internet with complete strangers and brags about **** like that?

Getting back to this board, there's got to be a basic level of respect and decorum in the way we treat each other. Even if we're diametrically opposed in our political views. Tibs' excellent post shows why I want him to remain part of this forum. I find him thoughtful, funny, entertaining and somebody I enjoy debating.

Tibs and I have very different political views. So what? I live in California, for heaven's sake, so I certainly like and get along with a ton of people with whom I disagree politically. I try and keep the discussion fact-centered, and do my best to avoid the personal comments. I find this easy to do with Tibs, because as far as I am concerned, he has never made a comment about me personally.

Look at it this way - I would certainly disagree with Tibs politically if he were my neighbor, but I would want him at my barbecues to discuss these issues.

Vanguard? Not so much.
