Russia considers opening military base in Cuba

Russia is looking to expand its military presence and has its eye on Cuba and other Latin American countries.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Russia has come up with a list of countries where it’s considering opening military bases. They include Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Vietnam, according to Russia’s state-owned RIA Novosti news agency.

“The talks are under way,” Shoigu told reporters in Moscow.

At a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump held up a piece of paper and proceeded to report a false story that had only been reported by a Russian controlled agency, Sputnik, a Russian propaganda outlet.

“This just came out a little while ago,’’ Trump said. “I have to tell you this.” And then he read the words from my [Eichenwald’s] article.

In the article linked below, Eichenwald explains that the false information originated from a hacked email from John Podesta’s account and was related to the Benghazi investigation. In the hacked email, Blumenthal quoted Eichenwald’s Newsweek article but the Russian agency distorted the information to make it appear as if the words were Blumenthal’s in attempt to link it to Hillary. Trump quoted this exact misinformation at his rally.

This misinformation was only available on the Russian Propaganda station Sputnik for a very brief time until they removed it. So the question is, how did Trump get his little digits on it?

This false story was only reported by the Russian controlled agency (a reference appeared in a Turkish publication, but it was nothing but a link to the Sputnik article). So how did Donald Trump end up advancing the same falsehood put out by Putin’s mouthpiece?

At a rally in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, Trump spoke while holding a document in his hand. He told the assembled crowd that it was an email from Blumenthal, whom he called “sleazy Sidney.”

“This just came out a little while ago,’’ Trump said. “I have to tell you this.” And then he read the words from my article.

“He’s now admitting they could have done something about Benghazi,’’ Trump said, dropping the document to the floor. “This just came out a little while ago.”

The crowd booed and chanted, “Lock her up!”

This is not funny. It is terrifying. The Russians engage in a sloppy disinformation effort and, before the day is out, the Republican nominee for president is standing on a stage reciting the manufactured story as truth. How did this happen? Who in the Trump campaign was feeding him falsehoods straight from the Kremlin?

I disagree. This country deserves exactly what it gets. This whole false outrage over Trump's statements that came out on Friday prove it. How can anyone in this country claim to be outraged when we have allowed the utter **** that is in popular culture, whether it be TV, movies music, whatever. I had that epiphany in thinking about this. I have watched that series "Game of Thrones." Hell, one of the recent seasons seemed that every episode had a damn rape in it. Yet we watch, it's a highly rated show, and then claim outrage at Trump comments, or even Bill Clinton for that matter.

Most Americans don't even have a rudimentary understanding of the Constitution or our history. Nobody gives a ****. In our pursuit of never trying to offend anyone, we now have made it acceptable for someone to claim to be a woman one day and a man the next. We are legitimizing mental illness for crying out loud. Instead of helping people we are encouraging it.

First, the RNC is not a governmental entity and thereby not subject to the FOIA and other laws governing retention of government records.

Second, the requested documents from the RNC were not deleted after the RNC received a subpoena.

Third, the claim that a private entity like the RNC deleting non-subpoenaed e-mails is "a violation of Federal law" is bullshit. Funny how the picture does not identify what law was supposedly violated, ehh?

Therefore, the fact that a private entity deleted e-mails that had not been subpoenaed has literally zero relevance to Hillary using a private server for government work to store classified government materials, and then deleting 33,000 e-mails that had been subpoenaed by Congress.
