Kudos to Spike for keeping this most awesome thread rolling over the past week.

MSNBC, my new favorite cable news channel.

CNN announced Saturday that it will host back-to-back Republican town hall events in South Carolina on Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET.

Over the course of two nights, all six of the remaining GOP presidential candidates will have the opportunity to answer questions from Palmetto State voters, who go to the polls on Saturday, February 20, for the Republican Party primary.

Trump Schedules Competing MSNBC Town Hall Opposite Cruz, Rubio CNN Town Hall

In yet another aggressive move that will thrill Trump supporters, late Tuesday morning, Jesse Rodriguez, Senior Producer of MSNBC's Morning Joe, announced a town hall event with Republican frontrunner Donald Trump that will take place Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The night will be hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.

The MSNBC town hall will compete directly with CNN and Trumpâ's two closest competitors, Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Marco Rubio.

I've been on an island. Have they said who won the ratings?

There are 3 candidates in the presidential race that I absolutely can not bring myself to vote for, they are Clinton, Sanders, and Trump. I think I'll just sit this one out.

I will write in Rand Paul depending on the who the Libertarian candidate is.

Thank you for your kind words, we couldn't have risen to the top without the support of our grassy roots

A real anti-establishment candidate!

I don't know anything about him....just answering the question as to who the Libertarian candidate could be.

I watched the hour long interview - Trump was very nice, but was taking swipes at the press at the same time - ha ha

Jeb Bush Bungles Several Questions On First Day Back At Home

NEWS IN BRIEF
February 22, 2016
VOL 52 ISSUE 07
News · Politics · Election 2016 · Jeb Bush
CORAL GABLES, FL—Noting how he repeatedly stumbled over his words and struggled to formulate convincing and consistent responses when asked by his wife about how he slept and what he wanted to have for breakfast, sources confirmed Monday that former presidential candidate Jeb Bush bungled numerous questions on his first day back at home. “You see—the thing is, breakfast—there are a number of options,” said Bush, anxiously reaching for a sip of water after delivering a meandering aside about why pancakes would be a reasonable choice, before awkwardly transitioning to a clumsy, forced anecdote about some bacon he recently had. “It’s an important question—you know what? Eggs. That’ll be—yes. Mmhmm.” Sources further reported Bush appeared helpless and forlorn after his request was drowned out by the louder, more confident answers from his children seated around the dining room table.

The antivirus guy who offered to unlock the Muzzie's iPhone is running for President in the Libertarian primary as well.

Isn't that the guy who was on the run from the feds or is this a different anti-virus guy?

I said six months ago our country needs to stand up in the world and say we are against Sharia law.

If people want to construe that as being anti-Muslim, oh well.

Sharia and our constitution and what we stand for as a nation are incompatible. We used to be this way against Nazism and Communism and saved millions of peoples lives around the world fighting for democracy and self-determination (people today seem to forget that).

Now we "respect" countries' right to govern how they want or worship how they want, even when they are blatantly against civil liberties and any moral value system a reasonably, educated person would have.

Sharia has no place in our country. Period. End of discussion.

To me, "vetting" a Muslim before entering the country means having them denounce Sharia law and agree to follow laws of our country even when in conflict with the Quran. If they don't agree, you don't let them in.

I am that against Sharia and think it's the next worldwide political epidemic that our government leaders have continued to ignore and put their head in the sand about.

Suzanne Barakat, the sister of a Muslim student killed alongside his wife and sister-in-law last year in an attack in North Carolina, challenged Donald J. Trump to meet with her after a speech in which he spoke approvingly of killing Islamic terrorists with bullets dipped in the blood of pigs.
I really do not see any qualm in how we kill Islamic terrorists. Be it from shooting them with bullets dipped in pig blood or feeding them directly to pigs. In fact, I have zero sympathy for Islamic terrorists. They deserve none and are not "rehabitable" by any means.

Aaaand, if you think about it....we are told over and over and over, ad nauseum, that these terrorist are not Muslims and are just hiding behind the religion. So, if this is true, why would it make a difference if the bullets are dipped in pigs' blood?

Again... I keep waiting for prominent Muslim to stand up and defend their religion in a logical way. You don't see any Muslim try and convince the American public that Sharia law is healthy or compatible with our Constitution.

All you hear is crickets.....

because Islam does not conform. it has never conformed throughout history. It only conquers. Even baby steps are seen as milestone victories.
look at the sheer number of children the Muslim household has and how fast the Muslim population is growing.

http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/01/06/a-new-estimate-of-the-u-s-muslim-population/

Since our first estimate of the size of the Muslim American population in 2007, we have seen a steady growth in both the number of Muslims in the U.S. and the percentage of the U.S. population that is Muslim.

In addition, our projections suggest the U.S. Muslim population will grow faster than the Hindu population and much faster than the Jewish population in the coming decades. Indeed, even before 2040, Muslims are projected to become the second-largest religious group in the U.S., after Christians. By 2050, the American Muslim population is projected to reach 8.1 million people, or 2.1% of the total population.

Just over half of the projected growth of the American Muslim population from 2010 to 2015 is due to immigration. Over the last 20 years, there has been an increase in the number of Muslim immigrants coming to the U.S. The number of Muslim immigrants currently represents about 10% of all legal immigrants arriving in the U.S., and a significantly smaller percentage of unauthorized immigrants.

The other main cause of Islam’s recent growth is natural increase. American Muslims tend to have more children than Americans of other religious faiths. Muslims also tend to be younger than the general public, so a larger share of Muslims will soon be at the point in their lives when people begin having children.

they're simply going to use our own laws (voting ability) against us.
thankfully, I'll be long gone by then but my child and possible grandchildren will get to deal with this bullshit.

I forget... what is the punishment under sharia for Homosexuality, or for women being promiscuous, or women's rights in general...or for changing religions?

It seems like a great thing for the liberal side of the country to defend... When a type of government rails against basic human rights as being against what they want based on religious principles, its probably time to explicitly denounce that particular train of thought as wrong... I mean Christians get eaten alive for saying they don't support gay marriage, and here is something that advocates the death penalty, and more than in an old testament unenforced kind of way... like they really stone them... and women who are raped too... and people who decide they don't believe in it anymore...
